The mystery is revealed

Hi all, today I am posting my mystery image card. We have a group of gals who swap in a mystery image swap. Every other month we get the same image to create 3 cards and send them to the hostess. Our hostess this month was Kate. She sent us an image from Stampin' Up of a dinosaur. I know she has boys and I am guessing they are into dinosaur's. I'm a bit rusty with dinosaur's as I have only had girls so I checked out the internet to see what they look like. (For an idea on how to color one...). After a bit of research, this is what I came up with.

Here is the front...

and here is the inside.

I used some of the  dsp I purchased at Archivers to make a baby gift for my niece's little guy. I don't remember the name of the dsp but I really liked it.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked the card.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

DDD January 2014- Angels

Hi all, once again it is time to get our duel on and this month of this new year, the hostesses were Melina for the Dazzlers and me for the Divas.. We chose Angels for our theme. I myself believe there are angels among us we just have to be aware and pay attention...but, I'll save that for later. When I put this kit together I used these darling little angels and I believe they are by Judikins however, the little tricksters have hidden and I am still looking for them to confirm the maker. Please forgive me..

When I think of Angels I think of flowers, gardens, peace, tranquility and people who have left earth to spend the rest of time in heaven. The kit contained:

DSP: Paper Pizzaz sponged blue and green
Magnolia summer memories forget me not wallpaper
Basic Grey-sweet threads fashionista
the glittered flower dsp is from a K & Co paper pack

The embellies are a mixture of different flowers I have picked up over the course of time and the ribbons are a mixture of S/U and ribbons I have purchased at garage sales and Tuesday morning.

As I was making my card I had this wonderful idea in my head which did not come out when I made the card. To say I struggled is an understatement. but, I kept at it and did produce a card. I'm not a fan but worked with what I had. I first picked a sketch, after cutting the pieces and making sure my angels would fit I discovered that I had taped the layers on upside down and I had taped it on REALLY good. Since the blue magnolia was my favorite dsp and I had cut the majority of the dsp for this sketch I didn't want to waste it so on to figure it out. I fussy cut the angels and had at one point taken two angels and had thought I'd put them in the two dsp squares on top....nope...too much. I then cut an oval from white and used the white ribbon to weave the center of the oval, giving a semi illusion of window panes in the back ground. I then put the oval on the card and took the two little angels and placed them right on the ribbon and raised the larger angel with mounting tape...oiyyyyy...Here is my card:

As an extra challenge we were to share an angel sighting/story....When my uncle died several years ago, he had a 3 year old granddaughter that was very special to him. (He LOVED little kids). Anyway, after the funeral, her mother, her aunts and her uncles went back to my aunts house to re-fresh and re-group. As they were sitting around the table my uncles little granddaughter laid down on the floor and instantly fell asleep. No one paid much attention but when she woke up she ran to the table and told everyone...I just saw and talked to grandpa and he said to tell you he is feeling really good and you are not to worry...he is fine. She then turned around and went to play with her toys. I really truly believe that there are angels all around us and if we have the faith and curiosity of a child and pay attention..... we will see them.

Thank you for stopping by, please take a minute and check out the other duelers I know have been busy creating....Please stop by their blogs and see the wonderful treats they have for us,,,,

Until next time,

Hugs,

Carol

Mo's Challenge #216 Flowers

Hi all. This week I decided to do a card for Mo Mannings Challenge #216. After looking around a bit I chose the image "Roxy". I think she is adorable and reminds me that my granddaughter is very close to this. She's not a little little girl anymore. (I kinda miss that). Any way I chose to create an easel card..

I love how this turned out and will probably give it to my granddaughter for some occasion or maybe just for fun. (I gotta tell you here as I was typing my post our house went pitch black and the electricity was out for about 1/2 hour...I thought I'd have to start from scratch however, when I got back my post was still here...my lucky day for sure!).

Thank you for stopping by. I really do appreciate it.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Carriers of Faith January 2014

Hi all, this is the first blog hop of the Carriers of Faith for 2014. We were the Crafters of Faith last year and changed our direction for the  year of 2014. Not in the fact that we are Crafters but in the fact that we have a direction that we are going and that we can be inspired not only in our daily crafting but in our daily life. We don't have to be Crafting to express our faith we just need to look around us to see the beauty and inspiration that surrounds us. Each month we have a hostess and a scripture and we are encouraged to look around us daily with the scripture in mind and find inspiration that is a reflection of the bible verse and how we interpret it. This month our hostess is Kelly and this is what she provided for us:

January Challenge :
January Scripture: “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
January photo inspiration: Spending time in stillness, in prayer.

Every morning and every evening as I leave the comfort of my warm bed or crawl into my bed, I am blessed to  have a roof over my head I thank the dear Lord for the wonderful things he has provided to me. In the morning I  talk to him as I shower and as I drive to work each day....here are just some of the wonderful blessings in my life:
My sweet granddaughter and my hubby
My dear daughter and her hubby

My dear daughter and her daughter
My brothers and sisters
The  family minus dd's hubby
My daughters

My sweet granddaughter
I am truly  blessed and am thankful for all these special blessings and for the amazing blessings of all my friends., These are just a sampling of the blessings God has provided. Each evening as I prepare for bed I thank the dear Lord for these same blessings and all the goodness the day has provided. God is truly good..

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. Your next stop will be our sweet  Tami . I'm not sure I have done this correctly as this is my first post, but I am sure I will get it soon.

Please stop by and check out the Carriers of Faith..

Until next time,
Hugs,

Happy New Year

Happy New Year friends. It looks like a promising one as my dear niece had a little baby girl this afternoon...what a way to start the year. While I was checking out blogs this afternoon, I saw the 100 cards in 100 days post that Jeanette had on her blog. I checked it out and have decided to try and do that as well.
My first card for the new year is this:

The image is "socialite" from Kenny K's digis. Before Christmas one of the things one of the little girls asked for was "crafts"...well...I decided to put together a kit of card making supplies for her. She is approaching the teen age years and I checked out Kenny K's digis. I got several for her and this one for me. I thought she would be fun to color up and make a card. (She was).

Here is the inside:

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it.

Have a wonderful start to your New Year.
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
