This month I was the hostess and looking for a theme I don't think we had done before. I chose National Poultry Day. I had never heard of it but found it on the weird holidays when I googled it. I sent the crew a kit with Paper Studio Country Road DSP pack. Also, the rooster image from Stampin Ups Rustic Rooster set. There were 6 sheets of each design of the paper and there are 7 of us so I used some of the other paper in the pack for my card. I chose to used the fractured card technique. It was a fun technique and way easier that it looks. </span></p><p>I <span style="font-family: Lemonada;">used basic black for a base and the accent strips. I colored my rooster image with colored pencils and highlighted the colors with sparkle water color paints. It is hard to tell in the picture but in real life you can see it. I like the effect it created. Here is my card:</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwQH6N6qCbJ9P1VrqJKPpTFfKyZ2_X1wfKbxWHfaisH0f0obmfHcLnd3clGp2Mo3RlxgQYyuVK4pXv1BGGtK-pFqU4A3CX9070aqKGFTL20x06Fdc2hFo1XfKJnLi7KS7POSAPhOiLtqhVmwvmoeHWqv3ZUKT0l3w10kdHVwFangJQUxK2EgpyWTGljGx6/s1164/IMG_20240314_221026_kindlephoto-137079.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1164" data-original-width="967" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwQH6N6qCbJ9P1VrqJKPpTFfKyZ2_X1wfKbxWHfaisH0f0obmfHcLnd3clGp2Mo3RlxgQYyuVK4pXv1BGGtK-pFqU4A3CX9070aqKGFTL20x06Fdc2hFo1XfKJnLi7KS7POSAPhOiLtqhVmwvmoeHWqv3ZUKT0l3w10kdHVwFangJQUxK2EgpyWTGljGx6/s320/IMG_20240314_221026_kindlephoto-137079.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">After adding the sentiment I used blue green stickles randomly on the front. I'm trying to get caught up and be more timely. The purpose of this challenge is to use two of the same things to make the card be able to be used another way. Barb and Jeanette are both doing this challenge and they make incredible cards. You should stop by and check theirs out.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">This month the card company they used was Unity. I LOVE Unity and just got a new set called Grumpy Birds. I had to ink it up and use it right away. I used the birds as my focal image on both cards and I think I messed up with the second thing. Anyway I haven't decided what to used one of the cards for but will use the other for an encouragement card. Here are my cards:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0cPtE7yKS85CB05JH5MwpBzpvCvd-0KBJRBAqhAElkoZBc0RPP9CHUm3ikxIqaoZMbawLnn1CIslgQL9AV721XAPVOHDw_I7RNKk83lUGxu0PWeQYGwl6OD3me5Ejk2eV06cTmvjE6urUHxgm2Kecyk_qeTJkHZwH-6pds2FQXeRsqpMkRyVQ7_v0UXZ/s1795/IMG_20240223_094843_kindlephoto-45771124.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1795" data-original-width="1478" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0cPtE7yKS85CB05JH5MwpBzpvCvd-0KBJRBAqhAElkoZBc0RPP9CHUm3ikxIqaoZMbawLnn1CIslgQL9AV721XAPVOHDw_I7RNKk83lUGxu0PWeQYGwl6OD3me5Ejk2eV06cTmvjE6urUHxgm2Kecyk_qeTJkHZwH-6pds2FQXeRsqpMkRyVQ7_v0UXZ/s320/IMG_20240223_094843_kindlephoto-45771124.jpg" width="263" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCuw2njWZrLr3WvQRRe3QbrUPnj8fgaENM74NBc4CNF86FwSiLh_tsFMXAOY2cDMufd-r_3vzolnqwqC3ZduYsbPWbLZfvdlvgxzgdqNF_a4pq9n1G31xGcJ8EIAr1JC_aZAznauje3-Kv3SEklg6NBTB0pcGbPAvmu6VpliJUdq61IIJaOW8MkB30EfO0/s2133/IMG_20240223_094909_kindlephoto-45709344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2133" data-original-width="1653" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCuw2njWZrLr3WvQRRe3QbrUPnj8fgaENM74NBc4CNF86FwSiLh_tsFMXAOY2cDMufd-r_3vzolnqwqC3ZduYsbPWbLZfvdlvgxzgdqNF_a4pq9n1G31xGcJ8EIAr1JC_aZAznauje3-Kv3SEklg6NBTB0pcGbPAvmu6VpliJUdq61IIJaOW8MkB30EfO0/s320/IMG_20240223_094909_kindlephoto-45709344.jpg" width="248" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you for stopping by my blog. Our great hostess for this month is Jeanette and she send us some cute dsp and a darling image to use for the theme Happy Birthday. Thank you Jeanette for the fun kit.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">I colored up the image right away . He was so much fun to color. Once I got the image all colored up I started working with the dsp trying to see what worked better together. I layered 3 different pieces of the paper off setting each one in one corner. Once I got the paper layered I cut little corners of black to separate the papers, I thought If I backed each of the dsp with the card would have been heavier and harder to mail. I took the multi colored flat brads that Jeanette had sent along as an extra and put one in each corner of the offset papers. I also took a sentiment stamp from my stash to stamp up in the corner. Here is my card:</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwKOxvwikEDElsF6drGFZleZXk5IR20zRmu7nZ2zHQTdGEiaq1DcK4wDakNVWjMxoBWwlDIRwOhflM6Sbks8q1Ni5_XA8h-WaeRQ-oBzksRzuh9069T8pz5ySaT3FJEy6qwmfWK4g35-Bz7UtjSVE9D4r9FJbm0C-Gcj1t1MDocdYxr1gY4Kn1USBWsafm/s1370/IMG_20240213_143222_kindlephoto-22637176.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1370" data-original-width="1110" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwKOxvwikEDElsF6drGFZleZXk5IR20zRmu7nZ2zHQTdGEiaq1DcK4wDakNVWjMxoBWwlDIRwOhflM6Sbks8q1Ni5_XA8h-WaeRQ-oBzksRzuh9069T8pz5ySaT3FJEy6qwmfWK4g35-Bz7UtjSVE9D4r9FJbm0C-Gcj1t1MDocdYxr1gY4Kn1USBWsafm/s320/IMG_20240213_143222_kindlephoto-22637176.jpg" width="259" /></a></div><p><br /></p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. My hot mess card isn't one I'm fond of. I started with one thing and the card morphed into something entirely different. Ugghhhh.<p></p><div><br /></div><div>I started with embossing a Altenew flower on vellum and colored it with paints. When I got it finished I then die cut it with the matching die. Ok I guess that will do. Maybe I should put it on a darker background and the colors would show up a bit better. So I took some watercolor paper and swiped distress ink over the background and wet it with water and crumpled it up to give the background a little more texture. It didn't quite turn out how I had imagined. I then mounted the vellum flower on black paper and fussy cut around the vellum to get even more color to pop. It helped somewhat ( I should have given up here and started over) I then mounted the flower on the background paper. I also added some little silver rhinestone randomly on the card. Like I said I should have just thrown it away but the stubbornness took over and I am now posting a card I'm not fond of because I was sure it could be salvaged. Here is my card:</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUxlnquI894XA9SWRA_GsJDqsIseVTHAlCx0FD4YdUbFiN79nyAOHvX6ZrWgtkpUUr6Jx7afedSSWaSd1w0dRcIMuBXzZKcvJSxAVP6KiyXk7R96FkIEmkM6yYxth9LYihU5jfYLj-y8d_x5rZFi5d6ZatHIdI1NpASPuSV56uVc5jFcXwCBCRard5686W/s1435/IMG_20240213_143235_kindlephoto-22590761.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1435" data-original-width="1169" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUxlnquI894XA9SWRA_GsJDqsIseVTHAlCx0FD4YdUbFiN79nyAOHvX6ZrWgtkpUUr6Jx7afedSSWaSd1w0dRcIMuBXzZKcvJSxAVP6KiyXk7R96FkIEmkM6yYxth9LYihU5jfYLj-y8d_x5rZFi5d6ZatHIdI1NpASPuSV56uVc5jFcXwCBCRard5686W/s320/IMG_20240213_143235_kindlephoto-22590761.jpg" width="261" /></a></div><br /><div>Thank you for stopping by. Happy New Year to all of you. This month our wonderful hostess is Barb. She chose snowmen as a theme to start out the new year. Our kits contained an image from Penny Black's Frosty Flakes stamp set. The dsp is Echo Park's Winter Magic line. I love the image and the papers Barb sent. Thank you Barb.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Paprika;">I used SU night of navy as a base. I cut two of the dsp and layered them a bit angled on the front. I colored the image with colored pencils and some glitter gel pens.I then fussy cut the image and mounted it with mounting tape on a background with the 3rd piece of dsp. For the final touch I added some of the snowflakes randomly on the card.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Paprika;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Paprika;">Here is my card:</span></p><p></p><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKfX7tCG8BBIMVElwWWeKH2mVR6juL9Zp-UaEgyMdEgQ_B5c9pNFqZjUoZ-jLJs3ErMrhEdcc5zWAiYLNbK6bm1YvbQzaQbP-W4wGuHCN_9g_aKk4SsP7owkEEQvAt-MKaznce99kLzZYcYICRme95KrBYMVW1AFF1fSkUzs45qXmutKuM1k2fLwS_TmWH/s2592/IMG_20240114_220213.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKfX7tCG8BBIMVElwWWeKH2mVR6juL9Zp-UaEgyMdEgQ_B5c9pNFqZjUoZ-jLJs3ErMrhEdcc5zWAiYLNbK6bm1YvbQzaQbP-W4wGuHCN_9g_aKk4SsP7owkEEQvAt-MKaznce99kLzZYcYICRme95KrBYMVW1AFF1fSkUzs45qXmutKuM1k2fLwS_TmWH/s320/IMG_20240114_220213.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr></tbody></table><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Paprika;">I hope you like my card.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Paprika;">Thank you for stopping by my blog, I do appreciate it. Time flies by so fast. Didn't get my Christmas cards done this year so I have a start on next year. I started with a beautiful shimmery design but it involved die cutting. I had all my paper and quite quickly discovered it had a thin layer of cardboard on the back. Both of the papers were too thick for the die cutting.. After 2 cards I was done poking out all the little pieces by hand and found a new design. I was also die cutting with this design but the paper was thinner. Although not all the pieces came out, way more did than on the first card. I had the little pieces all over me, the table and them floor. BIG MESS.....YES!!!!! I used a black base a plaid layer, red washing tape and a red shimmer paper for the bow.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;">Here is the second card.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;"></span></div><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs1aVAEsuy-RPDXg-j7V6kcvW1MTtIMjTJ1L5pjdIdRuPV0JezcDuPn6f7Aehgdx1UYVbJzAVPqVGpZUfBLz05Hy1DOZ6Uu_tIkdn781ndIaDf3XCenOGvoFd6UN8F2OL3ebIXf9jnz7Ha36ORaoSDtpbbM0f6UwLevLED6rmO5kE2YpvJvfsPrHa_VIMm/s1492/1b8a5bf8-38ba-4d57-bbe3-4ed3f26e2247_kindlephoto-27988642.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1492" data-original-width="1140" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs1aVAEsuy-RPDXg-j7V6kcvW1MTtIMjTJ1L5pjdIdRuPV0JezcDuPn6f7Aehgdx1UYVbJzAVPqVGpZUfBLz05Hy1DOZ6Uu_tIkdn781ndIaDf3XCenOGvoFd6UN8F2OL3ebIXf9jnz7Ha36ORaoSDtpbbM0f6UwLevLED6rmO5kE2YpvJvfsPrHa_VIMm/s320/1b8a5bf8-38ba-4d57-bbe3-4ed3f26e2247_kindlephoto-27988642.jpg" width="245" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Gabriela; font-size: medium;">Thank you for stopping by. This month our hostess is the creative Darlene. She decided to challenge us with a kit for a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. The kit included 2 cut and folded base cards that coordinated with the DSP she sent called Ink Drops by Craft Consortium. The images are All Together Holiday by Taylored Expressions. Gems are from Paper Studio along with flowers sequins and ribbon. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"> When making this card I first chose the DSP I liked and then matched it to the card base. I then cut out the die I chose to use from part of the other card base as well as a mounting piece for the dsp, I colored the little Christmas pieces with colored pencils and added a little sparkle in little places on the pieces. I used the little gems to accent the die and added the little ornaments, To finish off the front I stamped a sentiment from my stash and mounted it on the left over paper I had from mounting the other pieces. On the inside I did the same this with the sentiment and added a few little ornaments on the base to finish off the card. Here is my card both front and inside:</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnqWgkhfOMpN9fwOZoByBY1kD8WVKsXFX3WnCVDSUS0tDEGY1zd4pBYgr5357TYhet82M6_52gjJGt8UeNdDh8lPWBYaKiURKXALvy2xw-GPB_dglixmMSXPbjY9fOFQp6fL5kFr7AgA4dl71bD7sjQThN2F93y6939uOe0-hBHTQBnXqL75alm9NHBUJo/s1376/IMG_20231216_125250_kindlephoto-132113894.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1376" data-original-width="1085" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnqWgkhfOMpN9fwOZoByBY1kD8WVKsXFX3WnCVDSUS0tDEGY1zd4pBYgr5357TYhet82M6_52gjJGt8UeNdDh8lPWBYaKiURKXALvy2xw-GPB_dglixmMSXPbjY9fOFQp6fL5kFr7AgA4dl71bD7sjQThN2F93y6939uOe0-hBHTQBnXqL75alm9NHBUJo/s320/IMG_20231216_125250_kindlephoto-132113894.jpg" width="252" /></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvkL5sxxVM0StwYWwT9qGtxoAmlnUbVlWtpPkc618bD9epwyC1nwi_jYPfyAo_0sAqqp18tSgDoLhDy1FdI_qNH1_1Kl7nqLAaLPvgDG5YDeocIcF5tOSx2Wqa9wzOKV-v8O8J0LV-8aWUvr2zrgWrPEhEv5tXZ4JZWhJKje4PBLT94J27ka_Qf43jFdQ/s1475/IMG_20231216_125305_kindlephoto-132072225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1475" data-original-width="1102" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvkL5sxxVM0StwYWwT9qGtxoAmlnUbVlWtpPkc618bD9epwyC1nwi_jYPfyAo_0sAqqp18tSgDoLhDy1FdI_qNH1_1Kl7nqLAaLPvgDG5YDeocIcF5tOSx2Wqa9wzOKV-v8O8J0LV-8aWUvr2zrgWrPEhEv5tXZ4JZWhJKje4PBLT94J27ka_Qf43jFdQ/s320/IMG_20231216_125305_kindlephoto-132072225.jpg" width="239" /></a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thanks for stopping by. This month our hostess was Lorraine. She chose "Thankful Thoughts " as her theme. She sent a kit containing a scarecrow image from CTMH 2 Stampin Up sentiments, dsp from Imaginanace and Recollections several embellishments and ribbon. Thank you Lorraine for the fun kit. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">I used most of the kit for my card. I colored the image with colored pencils and fussy cut it out. I used cherry cobbler cardstock for the base of the card, dsp and image. I used the ribbon as a background for the </span><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">dsp</span><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"> panel.</span><span> <span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Brads ,leaves and hearts finish off the front of the card. When looking through my stamps I was sure I had more than one set of Lawn Fawn but it didn't show up anywhere. However I did find a Lawn Fawn box die cut and decided to use that along with the set I did have. I cut out two treat boxes one in black polka dot DSP and one in Christmas paper. On the Christmas paper box I used the cut out in the die set to create a window and used the piece I cut out as a tag for the box. On the black box I didn't use a cut out but I did use the little peacock and sentiment From the set I h. The peacock is colored with colored pencils and fussy cut then mounted with mounting tape on the top of the box.</p><p><br /></p><p>Here are my little boxes:</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNNdgpCOoH4YLUNKzEu5ry9Yuarnk5NoatfxWK8SKP7yMIZmAEO5C-rTkERVXaA3A4M4QoP8iYq7l5eVq8g-V9gj7iJfkempfyM8UKPff54QZX2vHDgcslQ2XKeo_y2KpHzXNafHFas2JSqfZEpj2-2g909c71RZTIcTae96JPHRiou2g5eD_9EBtVXOY/s1963/IMG_20231022_131552_kindlephoto-199263.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1357" data-original-width="1963" height="221" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNNdgpCOoH4YLUNKzEu5ry9Yuarnk5NoatfxWK8SKP7yMIZmAEO5C-rTkERVXaA3A4M4QoP8iYq7l5eVq8g-V9gj7iJfkempfyM8UKPff54QZX2vHDgcslQ2XKeo_y2KpHzXNafHFas2JSqfZEpj2-2g909c71RZTIcTae96JPHRiou2g5eD_9EBtVXOY/s320/IMG_20231022_131552_kindlephoto-199263.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh95OlQzB2pgpvlckKBNVIBteJAamj89NrDLWuIIGrrbIJU1QBuln6a0DsymO9zVCndgSq1TegiMmfajYTdYJKgEkP2mIZds62zP3LybzaQ64cpyRfCMMFEBoclUxT3kMBk3eBPuPKjOjDsyuCf7FXGlFUrnkBeem3Ad3Qux1Nphk-jG7ZYWLo-5jJ0O80/s1185/IMG_20231022_131647_kindlephoto-342051.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="852" data-original-width="1185" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh95OlQzB2pgpvlckKBNVIBteJAamj89NrDLWuIIGrrbIJU1QBuln6a0DsymO9zVCndgSq1TegiMmfajYTdYJKgEkP2mIZds62zP3LybzaQ64cpyRfCMMFEBoclUxT3kMBk3eBPuPKjOjDsyuCf7FXGlFUrnkBeem3Ad3Qux1Nphk-jG7ZYWLo-5jJ0O80/s320/IMG_20231022_131647_kindlephoto-342051.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Thanks for stopping by, please take little time to stop by the other double duty blogs . Our wonderful leader Jeanette asked us to make a card showing something we love using our own supplies. I thought about this for a bit and there is the obvious, God, my family, my country. And then there are other things like food, pets etc, but I chose trees. I'm not an outside camping hiking person but trees fascinate me. Years ago I heard a story about a person who lost his site for some time. He was able to get his site back and he commented on how the trees were different colors of green. I took notice of all the different colors in the trees. My card highlights trees, black/white,(favorite color combo) and blue and lavender my favorite colors. so my card includes many of the things I love.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Snippet;">Here is my card.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Snippet;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR3qsz2VeIqQR71_biNgDtOYSqGc1skObq1sHZeO2Bk-GG25BTs92clY2jO1e2ssGIpmIT3xkVjxGPB0DlbV-6761mBT6Gb8-g1us8WcPgcBl61nG9VZxrWubgdTukvfmhUKWcLPOZHys0p4gaUj3kchpZUIoxM8lMf1-gZFilQZH9mLrzIgxx6vN2Wmm3/s2207/IMG_20231015_160451_kindlephoto-131328830.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2207" data-original-width="1764" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiR3qsz2VeIqQR71_biNgDtOYSqGc1skObq1sHZeO2Bk-GG25BTs92clY2jO1e2ssGIpmIT3xkVjxGPB0DlbV-6761mBT6Gb8-g1us8WcPgcBl61nG9VZxrWubgdTukvfmhUKWcLPOZHys0p4gaUj3kchpZUIoxM8lMf1-gZFilQZH9mLrzIgxx6vN2Wmm3/s320/IMG_20231015_160451_kindlephoto-131328830.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Snippet;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Snippet;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Snippet;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Snippet;">Thank you for stopping by I really do appreciate it. Today we are highlighting Rubbernecker Stamps. The idea of this swap (Barbs brainchild) , is to use two of the same items on two cards using the same stamp. I chose the stamp " daisies " with the matching die. The two items I used on both cards were the same image and gold stickles. On the first card I die cut the right hand lower corner of the top layer. I then mounted the image on mounting tape and placed it on the front of the card. I then cut out the thinking of you in white with a lavender backing. On the second card I inked a stencil on part of the card stock and mounted the image with mourning tape on part of the stenciled area. I then stamped a sentiment on white and inked a thin layer of ink on it. <br /><br /><br />Here are my cards:<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnSQEtUWubEAWzDMhjFs2UqzGVJotz9OfcgC9L6gpb48L1785kxRUjP6febGqtTLaJAUnBvyhBOv0O4ed2ym4wcdBhQpkvC62vuOcLz2GsaL9ZvQCBhPiplISwFj7IkkEawa5f8CxC1XWFciwW_SEzoAwRE2H60RT-lF6YZx6tqnGey1dlR_zjb7Kr3swl/s1990/IMG_20230922_130333_kindlephoto-80607928.jpg"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnSQEtUWubEAWzDMhjFs2UqzGVJotz9OfcgC9L6gpb48L1785kxRUjP6febGqtTLaJAUnBvyhBOv0O4ed2ym4wcdBhQpkvC62vuOcLz2GsaL9ZvQCBhPiplISwFj7IkkEawa5f8CxC1XWFciwW_SEzoAwRE2H60RT-lF6YZx6tqnGey1dlR_zjb7Kr3swl/s320/IMG_20230922_130333_kindlephoto-80607928.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br />Thank you for stopping by my blog. First of all I'm late to the party and I need to apologize to our hostess Jeanette. Jeanette sent us a very unique challenge for this month. She sent us all a die to use but not as a die. I got Your Next Stamps wonky edged die. We could use any of our own supplies as long as we used the die not in the usual way it would be used. This was quite the challenge for me and I hope I did it right. At first I cut the die on one side and tried to match the cuts up to make a large circle border. It didn't work the way I had hoped so I adapted it. I took the lopsided piece of paper and used it to sponge clouds on the stamping up image "Coffee and Friends". I used basic black as the base and the DSP is an old one from stamping up. I used a stitched die to cut out the image and attached it to a black piece of paper, since the next die was too big for the area I fussy cut a border around the image and mounted the whole thing with mounting tape.to finish up the card I used lavender rhinestones from Wal-Mart and placed them randomly on the card. ( something I really need more practice with). </p><p><br /></p><p>Here is my card:</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4q-ZrL-AxEhcW_4VUzjoABpMJWoQbw-JcuJHAU2z9061gvx4j_H7FFcvzqYwvg2nPndsfN3QknkDnzQqT7GtWmuNW2gqsV0FA_rurwwOlGoKZZHvu5ldHEcrdN2Z6PBb2fNtfJ2fOIOs1DH9S-sKftPO-dW67jLNt6mFzatAJc7R41Xk378M1FFPuDT-E/s1966/IMG_20230919_153112_kindlephoto-16297003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1966" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4q-ZrL-AxEhcW_4VUzjoABpMJWoQbw-JcuJHAU2z9061gvx4j_H7FFcvzqYwvg2nPndsfN3QknkDnzQqT7GtWmuNW2gqsV0FA_rurwwOlGoKZZHvu5ldHEcrdN2Z6PBb2fNtfJ2fOIOs1DH9S-sKftPO-dW67jLNt6mFzatAJc7R41Xk378M1FFPuDT-E/s320/IMG_20230919_153112_kindlephoto-16297003.jpg" width="260" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Thank you got stopping by I really do appreciate it. It has been a busy summer. Today's card is definitely a labor of messes and reworks. I decided to try my hand at the watercolor lift again.....and again it didn't work😏. I started out with a watercolor wash of blue purple and white. I applied it to a piece of water color paper and it was dark which I was going for, however it got a little overworked in the middle. I then did another sheet of watercolor paper only this came out lighter. I used a new to me background stamp and applied a light misting of water to the stamp and laid it on the first paper. Pressed down well and lifted the stamp. It made an image on the paper but not evenly so I set that piece to the side. Again I tried the same process as above but the paper was more evenly colored. Once it dried I wasn't pleased with how the image came out so I stamped the background in black on the paper. Of course it needed something more (like a blue/silver glitter). I applied the glitter and then took the discarded sheet of watercolor paper and cut out the word hugs. I mounted this on black, and fussy cut around it. I then mounted the words on mounting tape on the front of the card. On the inside I stamped a sentiment ( crooked of course) and added a little flower. Will redo the inside before sending it. Here is my card both inside and out.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" dir="rtl" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ-9mqUNIALshl3kdGtBazUdeoeL5xVXy_SlKohyQsjynAocuB4FTxjdBRIlkMKgY8JQXmhVwpHAT7KI9p_k6rWBx9iB5tz-NDjflysjEr9oac9xSbgU1eMV9Nw3I4BjL5lVV9phPWxKQDuaoUUDxoN-DPswdD2Be0gF2Ybmd-eRBjethNkh0Le-wK87A4/s1533/11224186-ce37-4f11-b4e7-29fb02972f57.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1533" data-original-width="1272" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ-9mqUNIALshl3kdGtBazUdeoeL5xVXy_SlKohyQsjynAocuB4FTxjdBRIlkMKgY8JQXmhVwpHAT7KI9p_k6rWBx9iB5tz-NDjflysjEr9oac9xSbgU1eMV9Nw3I4BjL5lVV9phPWxKQDuaoUUDxoN-DPswdD2Be0gF2Ybmd-eRBjethNkh0Le-wK87A4/s320/11224186-ce37-4f11-b4e7-29fb02972f57.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwMdsXMxof3bv9NBuPMJyedv9T5bfTO4eDlb39gLy8ZcSzajWWZQxVUR3qoSHWwK5alkHhYM9gMOcZp2uXgKyNAhw_x22DzLJKmJSh2Uz7nBTEpRwRUpW2uitKRIPzW8i1PyLOfEcMao2JZl57ZrlGQK88KgtL9_uI_84b1A1tEMDaeE5S4d1ehxCwZmUD/s1724/a63f7c38-192a-413e-8e40-eab102a897c9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1724" data-original-width="1434" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwMdsXMxof3bv9NBuPMJyedv9T5bfTO4eDlb39gLy8ZcSzajWWZQxVUR3qoSHWwK5alkHhYM9gMOcZp2uXgKyNAhw_x22DzLJKmJSh2Uz7nBTEpRwRUpW2uitKRIPzW8i1PyLOfEcMao2JZl57ZrlGQK88KgtL9_uI_84b1A1tEMDaeE5S4d1ehxCwZmUD/s320/a63f7c38-192a-413e-8e40-eab102a897c9.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you for stopping by I really appreciate it. The idea of the challenge (created by Barb), is to make two cards using the same two elements on both cards. Today the challenge was to use a stamp or stamp set from a company which is no longer in business. I used the Santa Collage image from Rubber Stampede. This is one of my all time favorite images. When I first saw it I contacted Rubber Stampede to see where I could find it as I couldn't find it anywhere at the time. They told me it had been discontinued but would put my name on a list of people requesting it. Apparently I wasn't the only one who liked this stamp as I got an email from them several months later saying they had made more did I still want the stamp? I answered that email right away. I got my stamp and all my friends wanted one too. As luck would have it, Michaels had just set their Christmas stamps out and they were on sale. I was able to pick up one for each of my friends that wanted it. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela;">Today's cards both use the same stamp, the same basic black base, the same red velvet ribbon and the same little Christmas tree. I used the paper stack "A Very Merry" from hobby lobby which I used on both cards just different pieces and of course stickler to highlight Santa.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela;">Here are my cards.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZlpjFSHn5y3WsxbQaHYnswz4S5nmyKUlgal-CQx92QRcEBiV4C8YnMaydNi0-37tNHQOKP3GlLq2Tdm181eMPU0kRKEBo_OwAucbTOCrKIPZWRY1ARP9XUYPuJ35wpxUJUKhpmUg_GgVBiZMGIqG6BqO_LecRAteDy7j3JrajLqqxfe_lz6QINrKkCewp/s2423/IMG_20230822_075001_kindlephoto-9320011.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1508" data-original-width="2423" height="199" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZlpjFSHn5y3WsxbQaHYnswz4S5nmyKUlgal-CQx92QRcEBiV4C8YnMaydNi0-37tNHQOKP3GlLq2Tdm181eMPU0kRKEBo_OwAucbTOCrKIPZWRY1ARP9XUYPuJ35wpxUJUKhpmUg_GgVBiZMGIqG6BqO_LecRAteDy7j3JrajLqqxfe_lz6QINrKkCewp/s320/IMG_20230822_075001_kindlephoto-9320011.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Gabriela;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gabriela;">Thank you for stopping by. Lorraine was our wonderful hostess this month and chose a Christmas theme. Lorriane said her two favorite Christmas decorations are wreaths and gingerbread people. It sounds like she has a wonderful collection of both for the holidays. Our kit included a Holiday Wreath stamp from Your Next Stamp along with DSP from simple stories and photoplay. Also included were misc ribbons and embellishments from her stash. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Salsa;">For my card I wanted to try something a little different. I loved the dsp Lorraine sent and started out in one direction but changed once I saw my original plan was of going to work.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Salsa;">I had a die </span><span style="font-family: Salsa;">I was going to use similar to a quilt but it was too big so I chose a smaller die. With the first one I had planned on using the different dsp to fill in the quilt holes but decided to make the front the die cut layered over the dsp. I colored up the wreath using colored pencils and some glitter gel pens. You can't see the sparkle very well in the picture but it is there. I chose a basic black for the base and die cut. I popped up the wreath and saying with mounting foam to complete the front of the card.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNmhgKGjMaYV4gvYym8LGXKco6NgCBhkRbhrFBNR3UH_TBfbCvexQB8EcuaV9A4ZxmjStOB9CKz0NkgR0zx4RAGorIYHHxCggYgRtM6qu8P1dTev62qZc6Kq4mpTd9Ex2y5DWEG69Z6_NJ4TtZcc7p1mqQNxLvIioGF-_eiCF8tCU3Tw6-dWCdh07OHmMr/s1591/IMG_20230818_073426_kindlephoto-850403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1591" data-original-width="1299" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNmhgKGjMaYV4gvYym8LGXKco6NgCBhkRbhrFBNR3UH_TBfbCvexQB8EcuaV9A4ZxmjStOB9CKz0NkgR0zx4RAGorIYHHxCggYgRtM6qu8P1dTev62qZc6Kq4mpTd9Ex2y5DWEG69Z6_NJ4TtZcc7p1mqQNxLvIioGF-_eiCF8tCU3Tw6-dWCdh07OHmMr/s320/IMG_20230818_073426_kindlephoto-850403.jpg" width="261" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Salsa;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Salsa;">On the inside I placed one of the candy embellishments to add a little interest.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFrfA3OcViALdgfZ295AqqJYK5_Ak6Czxr-tmi6HD6kDwb0kTKpZbVR8rAsRb95d4MZIH0cZoXNBRjTFHzt53phnsVOgkkET7no2PqGPkTh9f_Tyq7_zcjQwkI3ubhGgWLaOGgijbGMPA7WzfDn7xdxMig9Cxrt6QZT1a9mAvMCGvMJ4YGwHgn_Z6MUk11/s1877/IMG_20230818_073445_kindlephoto-797605.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1877" data-original-width="1495" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFrfA3OcViALdgfZ295AqqJYK5_Ak6Czxr-tmi6HD6kDwb0kTKpZbVR8rAsRb95d4MZIH0cZoXNBRjTFHzt53phnsVOgkkET7no2PqGPkTh9f_Tyq7_zcjQwkI3ubhGgWLaOGgijbGMPA7WzfDn7xdxMig9Cxrt6QZT1a9mAvMCGvMJ4YGwHgn_Z6MUk11/s320/IMG_20230818_073445_kindlephoto-797605.jpg" width="255" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Salsa;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Salsa;">Thank you for stopping by, I really do appreciate it. A day late but here. This month our lovely hostess is Jeanette. She sent us a wonderful kit for Christmas in July. So much fun to work with. I must apologize for being late. I received my kit and colored the grinch right away. Before I got to creating life got in the way so I will be playing catch up for a bit here. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Happy Monkey;">Ok so on with the post. Jeannette's kit contained CC Designs image "green one". Sentiments from TE, Cracker box and DC designs. DSP was from Recollections and My Minds Eye along with misc ribbons and embellishments.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Happy Monkey;">I used a basic black card stock for my base and worked from there. First I used a</span><span style="font-family: "Happy Monkey";"> subtle red DSP for my background. I then took two of the the designer papers and mounted them on black and set them at an angle on the base. I cut my image out with a die cut and mounted it on a die cut piece of black. I mounted my image on the two angled pieces of DSP. Jeanettes 's kit included a Christmas tree brad with two slits in the brad. I took a piece of the ribbon and threaded it through the brad and added a few random rhinestones. On the inside I took some of the scraps and made corners for the plain white paper. It is usually hosted by one of us or one of our children. There is always a great turn out and enough of food to feed an army. Tons of fun, lots of laughs and catching up with what everyone has been up to. A real blessing....</span></p><p><span style="font-family: "Happy Monkey";"> Thank you for stopping by. Our leader this month was Barb and she sent a cute kit for us to play with. Thank you Barb. I actually colored my image right away. Our kit included the cute image from Pink Studio Bouquet of hearts...and yummy dsp from SU called peaceful poppies (I love it) misc embellishments and ribbon.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">For my card this month I used a layout I had used several years ago and ran across it while looking for something else. It has a plain basic black base and I used a purple for the main part of the card. I had a hard time picking which dsp I wanted to use as it was all so pretty. I then used another piece of paper to mount the image on. I then wrapped a ribbon around the whole card to keep the front flap closed. Here is my card:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD8rGs-RUYcWFbMPrzD5epd0Fla4gTHcLghutGDooBcksIQ2Sj_QsdklDDR4HpVVXOS7mrdYqeOe1feN0HPrC4DwJy76orlZPkfs3yO6v9W_qduPPQG7VV-BElpYAePAZlgfqxKIqeyxU89gI9-H2UIVcYoM0FuzI-JDPdChOSedIY6lA6ot9HqsaG3g/s2592/IMG_20230615_072739.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD8rGs-RUYcWFbMPrzD5epd0Fla4gTHcLghutGDooBcksIQ2Sj_QsdklDDR4HpVVXOS7mrdYqeOe1feN0HPrC4DwJy76orlZPkfs3yO6v9W_qduPPQG7VV-BElpYAePAZlgfqxKIqeyxU89gI9-H2UIVcYoM0FuzI-JDPdChOSedIY6lA6ot9HqsaG3g/s320/IMG_20230615_072739.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_sd0fwlQtFhNGc2EcMRKaf1ndLSSKOPSZ7WO4BqVt_ZDQa45H9GyUDyzqiMXGWzP0os7_tM9FUVeCxiZsK7rZ9HekHsS7IsYRr2gRadQAc-gG7oCaYUDmRIZvT6tjACfRiklibhFUreZjMK5o7QC-GbrNU8Hcovmafcp6ox2nnm3T7zS0rrNQTv7YwQ/s2592/IMG_20230615_072800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1944" data-original-width="2592" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_sd0fwlQtFhNGc2EcMRKaf1ndLSSKOPSZ7WO4BqVt_ZDQa45H9GyUDyzqiMXGWzP0os7_tM9FUVeCxiZsK7rZ9HekHsS7IsYRr2gRadQAc-gG7oCaYUDmRIZvT6tjACfRiklibhFUreZjMK5o7QC-GbrNU8Hcovmafcp6ox2nnm3T7zS0rrNQTv7YwQ/s320/IMG_20230615_072800.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">I hope you like the card. Today is the day to post our hot mess cards. The idea is to make a card or item that you make and using something messy to create turning you mess into a success. I'm pretty good at the messy part the jury is still out on the success part.<br /><br />Today I tried a new technique ( to me). I've been loving the 3D folders and have been experimenting with them in hopes of finding a good technique to make a great card. So far 🤔 nothing that I really like. Today I used an Altanew folder. I ran watercolor paper with my folder first. I then water colored the impression with sparkly watercolors. I set that off to dry. Once dry I ran it through my embossing folder that had versa mark covering the flat side of the folder. I was hoping to evenly coat the paper with the versa mark but it didn't quite happen. I covered the versa mark with black embossing powder and heated it. The idea here was to have a black embossed background that the colors on the impression would pop through. As you can see, the versa mark transferred onto the impression which in turn picked up the powder. Ugghhh. More experimenting is in order here. <br /><br />Here is my card. (bad picture)<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiTvGhPmLhPlPFtYRySstR4L7NTsa6gmoPaZfHectqT6fLMzECsycE5ceT7-zsY5LzwKWYaBG3OmCAb_yn8VQJzG_pbGKI3k8Yrh1jp3SUaA4zv-0GONxB41jt5CK22ghGVn7yECfPSY0dISv945fbtwGYfPceV4GhEGfeFQ473LnGgTrRBuPZ9Q2lYA/s2592/IMG_20230612_075116.jpg"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiTvGhPmLhPlPFtYRySstR4L7NTsa6gmoPaZfHectqT6fLMzECsycE5ceT7-zsY5LzwKWYaBG3OmCAb_yn8VQJzG_pbGKI3k8Yrh1jp3SUaA4zv-0GONxB41jt5CK22ghGVn7yECfPSY0dISv945fbtwGYfPceV4GhEGfeFQ473LnGgTrRBuPZ9Q2lYA/w200-h150/IMG_20230612_075116.jpg" width="200" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Thank you so much for stopping by I do appreciate it. Life took a few unexpected turns but I am finally here. This month our lovely hostess is Tracie. She chose flowers as a theme and this is what she sent:</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Happy Monkey;"><span style="font-size: small;">I was so happy to get the month of May to be the hostess. May is my
favorite month of the year. When I was a child we would always
celebrate May day (May 1) by taking flowers to the elderly. Such good
memories. May brings all kinds of flowers to bloom so I decided my
challenge this month would be "May Flowers". In your package, I have
stamped an image from Avery Elle called Best of the Bunch using Memento
Tuxedo Black Ink. I also love foxes and immediately fell in love with
this stamp. Designer papers are from "New Day" by Echo Park. The
flowers are from "Garden Variety" by Taylored Expressions. Ribbon and
twine are from my stash. Gems are from Pink Fresh and the buttons are
also from my stash. I have been going to our local library and using
their flow forge which I used to cut out the bookmarks. I would love to
see what you would use if you colored the flowers. I would also love
to hear what your favorite flower is. Thanks for taking part in my
challenge this month.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">The image Tracie chose is adorable and I colored it up right away. I chose an avocado cardstock for the base of my card. I also chose a relatively plain layout in hopes of highlighting the cute image. I placed the pink flower cut out off to the side of the image. I placed a sparkly rhinestone to use as the stamen of the flower.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">Here is my card:</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTDNydbJvZlYGaM6OtoMG4w1Pxk3ToA0YXSzRc-p8km2tAgAUn3LnhWZyOUme02SLPIoBdO5gG_mD3xx5nCEIw8vYfQJSG7K1zWT_bG3u5ZgAgscL_RqgsOSVZjE-chnT5_disqAm73jw6NMRK_fuHx2tx0nWne8tKUp7LJ00cR06GkltQkM6rRDvdfg/s1442/IMG_20230516_144231_kindlephoto-1406723.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1442" data-original-width="1155" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTDNydbJvZlYGaM6OtoMG4w1Pxk3ToA0YXSzRc-p8km2tAgAUn3LnhWZyOUme02SLPIoBdO5gG_mD3xx5nCEIw8vYfQJSG7K1zWT_bG3u5ZgAgscL_RqgsOSVZjE-chnT5_disqAm73jw6NMRK_fuHx2tx0nWne8tKUp7LJ00cR06GkltQkM6rRDvdfg/s320/IMG_20230516_144231_kindlephoto-1406723.jpg" width="256" /></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Kf9J6ECRkG5uqJtWX4gx28fcMeT3agbWyM7WiD38JzhYRrG_pheNGJVIAVISUJHsYyFQ2t0c9bt-DuMN5-7eROfI8OY_lrgP1h8i3g81r_C2zzaRyaYkZc_wv_XTA8-8HDPBjZkT7Z6Fx20kz1jylUexK3tzTGO8dSdnu8KHFm1RV838DSz6Ef7NnA/s1521/IMG_20230516_144243_kindlephoto-1125252.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1521" data-original-width="1160" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Kf9J6ECRkG5uqJtWX4gx28fcMeT3agbWyM7WiD38JzhYRrG_pheNGJVIAVISUJHsYyFQ2t0c9bt-DuMN5-7eROfI8OY_lrgP1h8i3g81r_C2zzaRyaYkZc_wv_XTA8-8HDPBjZkT7Z6Fx20kz1jylUexK3tzTGO8dSdnu8KHFm1RV838DSz6Ef7NnA/s320/IMG_20230516_144243_kindlephoto-1125252.jpg" width="244" /></a></div><br /></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">Tracie also sent along a decorated yummy candy bar (which was gone quite quickly) as well as the bookmark she cut out at the library. I tried my hand at coloring it. </span><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">I used Distress Oxide blueprint sketch ink with a blending brush. The flowers I colored in with gel pens. I wrote over the sentiment at the top with a black gel marker (which didn't turn out as well as I had hoped). Here is my bookmark:</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwdxPhquESa4Ll1VgwaLwslU95K4bBLe8K1H8Vv7pNgG2_J8EMKMCHSy-nakC5JiMRc72ltmFUxB2Lz9IKtwIDDedNjS2RcASN-P9J7edRkI3skVepR1g0ebF6nE3vhDnXEEpuAH40LKx_EREA0gG-NMgLcKN6KPurq1E3iNc5APUgf2nZSdvD8VuNKA/s1588/IMG_20230516_144217_kindlephoto-1232314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1588" data-original-width="554" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwdxPhquESa4Ll1VgwaLwslU95K4bBLe8K1H8Vv7pNgG2_J8EMKMCHSy-nakC5JiMRc72ltmFUxB2Lz9IKtwIDDedNjS2RcASN-P9J7edRkI3skVepR1g0ebF6nE3vhDnXEEpuAH40LKx_EREA0gG-NMgLcKN6KPurq1E3iNc5APUgf2nZSdvD8VuNKA/s320/IMG_20230516_144217_kindlephoto-1232314.jpg" width="112" /></a></div><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">I too, Tracie would celebrate May day in a similar way as you. My mom would help us make little May baskets filled with candy and we would deliver them to our friends homes. We would place the basket on the door handle and ring the bell. Once the friend would pick up the basket they would chase the giver and give them a hug or kiss on the cheek. Fond memories. As far as flowers go I have several favorites. I tend to lean towards larger flowers (Carnations-hibiscus-gerber daisies you get the idea) I like them in vibrant colors they make such fun boquets.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Merienda; font-size: medium;">I want to thank you for stopping by my blog. Let me tell you my card was involved with several messes. I had my post almost done, as I took pictures yesterday morning. After getting my post almost done my computer cut out and the post disappeared. I went back in to start again and it had saved,I was so excited. As I finished the computer the computer blacked out and shut off. My post was totally gone . I was going to re-do the post last night but on the way home from babysitting a guy ran into the back of my vehicle in the midst of road construction. I was a bit flustered and didn't get back to my post. .....so here it is a day late. Sorry. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">I was going to try the alcohol lift technique and did so with the alcohol and watercolors. Neither worked out but the watercolor background appeared to have the most potential so after applying the color to the watercolor paper, I attempted to lift the color by applying water to the stamp. I brought the wet stamp down, lifted it directly up and what to my wondering eyes did I see??? A blob of white in somewhat the shape of the stamp but not at all what I was expecting. So now what. I dried off the water color paper and brought out my versa mark. I stamped the image with the versa mark and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then added some random gold stickles on the front Panel. I mounted the image panel on yellow sparkle paper and then on black cardstock. I salvaged the card somewhat and will be trying this technique again. I think I may have missed a step or something....but we will see. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"> </span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Here is my card:</span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUf383lLLCxTAKdrxmarj-6oGXOtCoEA_ZNF2FyaQBl75cRAhX7pVidfPCwz4cVtVWgfFPuiOfwQMXj8EOWvVAbj8NztxMHE624kASSNMrsNfyAwaqgUICSpjl_LVmtZhnr3Z6cR8n_OUKek2IiNBJg2BPPIfDfb6x-ccB3-DTWAPSsbVjMgu2vA9PUw/s1622/IMG_20230512_073451_kindlephoto-166255211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1622" data-original-width="1280" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUf383lLLCxTAKdrxmarj-6oGXOtCoEA_ZNF2FyaQBl75cRAhX7pVidfPCwz4cVtVWgfFPuiOfwQMXj8EOWvVAbj8NztxMHE624kASSNMrsNfyAwaqgUICSpjl_LVmtZhnr3Z6cR8n_OUKek2IiNBJg2BPPIfDfb6x-ccB3-DTWAPSsbVjMgu2vA9PUw/s320/IMG_20230512_073451_kindlephoto-166255211.jpg" width="253" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you so much for stopping my blog today. The idea of this challenge is to make 2 cards using the same image but the cards should be able to be used for 2 different purposes. Also, the cards must have 2 of the same item used on both of them ex. Both cards using same layout same dsp etc.....you get the idea. The company that was chosen for this month is "Pink Fresh". </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">The sweet set I used was " Be Strong". I don't have a ton of Pink Fresh but I'm building up my collection. I think this set is pretty and soft so I chose to color it with shades of purple. On one card I used a full die cut for the background and layered a main focal point of Stacking dies with a thin foam tape. I took all the pieces of the flowers one laid them out using both layers as backdrop. I then took a tissue border and attached it to the bottom of the card. I used white half pearls to accent the flowers on the border. On the second card I put an embossed layer down on top of the base. I then cut out an oval and layered the flowers onto the oval. I used white half pearls to finish off the card. I used white bases, half pearls, purple colored pencils and brown stickers on the insides of the flowers on both cards. Here are my cards:<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizMvtpRfeB0j4sA9DxdsvmI_mdCcGx7E52olcpW4_1wWwO0oJAY0VBnSRNKBekUBh8s0hw53JXHl-dIyt03O_oKdsqDJJz8F40Ehan-cqAv2m-AsjLVVXH9R-0zV9uNNaGL_otIWXlbJ0JUI58SRV338Pifw_e9RJxz1vvdeyxQauNdrSVDUUbxB_-7A/s2236/IMG_20230412_083550_kindlephoto-180931231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1406" data-original-width="2236" height="201" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizMvtpRfeB0j4sA9DxdsvmI_mdCcGx7E52olcpW4_1wWwO0oJAY0VBnSRNKBekUBh8s0hw53JXHl-dIyt03O_oKdsqDJJz8F40Ehan-cqAv2m-AsjLVVXH9R-0zV9uNNaGL_otIWXlbJ0JUI58SRV338Pifw_e9RJxz1vvdeyxQauNdrSVDUUbxB_-7A/s320/IMG_20230412_083550_kindlephoto-180931231.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Either card could be used for several occasions.<p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you for stopping by my blog. This month was my month to send kits. I searched the unusual holidays for the month of April. April 8th is National Zoo day so I decided to use this as my theme for my kit. I have always loved the stamp "African Queen" by Artful Stampers". I found dsp on Amazon that had real life looking animal prints for the kit as well as some misc plain dsp from Hobby Lobby. Some misc ribbon from my stash as well as some flat brands from Gina Marie. </span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;">I chose to use black paper as the base of my card. I used the giraffe print to layer onto the base card.I cut the plain paper in layers with a nesting die cut. I placed some leaves randomly around the image (I had die cut and sent with the kit).I put the brown velvet ribbon on the bottom of the card and wrapped some of the sheer ribbon around it and placed brads on the top of the sheer ribbon to add some interest. I also added eyelashes to the giraffe's eyes (these are hard to see in the photo).</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;">Along with the kit I asked the other members to tell what their favorite zoo animal. As you can see I really like the giraffe's they are so tall and graceful. It amazes me that they are so oddly built and yet are able to move around with such grace and not fall on their face.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;">Here is my card:</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgryGFHz3azKipSdkTZU8Lq4-ENOXnCHHjaF4_ZnIgpz0JJ8GVgWt1nxgIsYSgMEnXrBBoZ-sPWMMZjBMjgkRSDj6phODm0Wdm4_7JqMPx_yOEV-ES6ovTSnQERVKB4yzGboqy9HWO7FQc159i2OburUwyVc1i9gQWXZ5AZBpLz2TKIU6T55rAhaJl2eg/s1398/IMG_20230413_224228_kindlephoto-24762005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1398" data-original-width="1179" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgryGFHz3azKipSdkTZU8Lq4-ENOXnCHHjaF4_ZnIgpz0JJ8GVgWt1nxgIsYSgMEnXrBBoZ-sPWMMZjBMjgkRSDj6phODm0Wdm4_7JqMPx_yOEV-ES6ovTSnQERVKB4yzGboqy9HWO7FQc159i2OburUwyVc1i9gQWXZ5AZBpLz2TKIU6T55rAhaJl2eg/s320/IMG_20230413_224228_kindlephoto-24762005.jpg" width="270" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada; font-size: medium;">Thank you so much for stopping g by my blog, I really appreciate it. Today is the day to reveal our hot mess cards. I tried a new to me technique and almost had it aced and then I tried to attach it to my card base. By the time I figured it out ( I had to use glue) I needed to let it dry before I could take a photo. I did take the card to my daughters but it was gymnastics day so was gone in the morning and really busy this afternoon. So here I am.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">I used not quite navy for the base of my card. I colored the free digital precious moments cowboy image I found online. The technique I used was a faux leather I found <a href="https://thegraphicsfairy.com/faux-leather-technique-for-paper">Here</a>. The technique itself went well for the first time using it. The problem came into play when I tried to attach the leather piece of paper. First I tried a glue gun but that just pull the top layer of paper off. The glycerin was dry but the oil didn't work well with mounting tape either. I then resorted to a multi purpose glue. I put it on thicker and let it dry overnight and Walla it stayed on. I found cowboy stickers and added a couple on the card to make it more of a cowboy card. Here is my card:</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMO5pfGHKuwRTm-JtG_4Txung0PjkU-BbVaxWoCPVacZUIonseFoZxeNNsK8gYZ37vbSO57YVopWhqOz-UekVnCqagZoRDmNAFlCg14jl4cex4XVFwYfj0aNf3k_oOHXbkCY_DYXUpOO_LGU9rp8I6tLMc17h7e3elKyX3FgDAl-Au_CFDYVH57VC_rA/s1597/IMG_20230412_083437_kindlephoto-180703978.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1597" data-original-width="1240" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMO5pfGHKuwRTm-JtG_4Txung0PjkU-BbVaxWoCPVacZUIonseFoZxeNNsK8gYZ37vbSO57YVopWhqOz-UekVnCqagZoRDmNAFlCg14jl4cex4XVFwYfj0aNf3k_oOHXbkCY_DYXUpOO_LGU9rp8I6tLMc17h7e3elKyX3FgDAl-Au_CFDYVH57VC_rA/s320/IMG_20230412_083437_kindlephoto-180703978.jpg" width="248" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Here is the inside:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlXvTheuiHBrY7ga1G6428VbAefOrMDymd2kU6c7oE4GEu6SQzOUsa-oKbbaP18I8qp2028GRUWi_U3GJrC2CxEXX0uzthnlO0tYlTRVpL2F6B3rwDFslFPD_3qtGqHD7YBmFWgmGO2y_Lba6uiy4NOXi2RzGsHBn8X1E_YOsGVxkz_4JLvVASGWqWQ/s1621/IMG_20230412_083503_kindlephoto-180760850.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1621" data-original-width="1201" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlXvTheuiHBrY7ga1G6428VbAefOrMDymd2kU6c7oE4GEu6SQzOUsa-oKbbaP18I8qp2028GRUWi_U3GJrC2CxEXX0uzthnlO0tYlTRVpL2F6B3rwDFslFPD_3qtGqHD7YBmFWgmGO2y_Lba6uiy4NOXi2RzGsHBn8X1E_YOsGVxkz_4JLvVASGWqWQ/s320/IMG_20230412_083503_kindlephoto-180760850.jpg" width="237" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Thank you so much for stopping by. Today is the day for posting our Creative Cards . Terry was our lovely creative hostess and sent us a wonderfully fun Easter kit to play with. Thank you Terry.what a great kit. The theme Terry chose was some bunny loves you. The kit she sent contained :</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Images: Simon Says "oh bunny"</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">All the DSP came from Terry's stash along with the embellish she sent along.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">Terry sent along full pages of the images and sentiments as well as images </span><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">c</span><span style="font-family: Lemonada;">utout (bonus). I colored up my bunnies and then mounted them on mounting tape . I chose the plain blue paper and the Easter Egg paper as nothing says Easter like decorated eggs. I chose a plain layout Using a pink ribbon from the kit to separate the two papers. I then used many of the embellishments to decorate my eggs. This kit was fun to work with.
