Calander Girl January Challenge "Miss June"
Hi all, Here I am again with my challenge card for January. I am part of a wonderful, talented blogging group and we call ourselves "the Calander Girl's". Miss January, (aka, Jeanette), challenged us this month to make a card or anything but a card, that reflects our month. We also needed to incorporate our favorite embellishment and our newest crafting toy (not purchased for this card). So here we go.....I chose to make a card. Since I am "Miss June" I tried to incorporate as many things as I could that related to June and hopefully not overwhelm the card. First off the birthstone for June is a "pearl" (I know that one as my birthday is in June). On my card I have several pearls surrounding my bride. Typically they say June is the month for brides and weddings. (My image is a digital from Sassy Studio Designs)...June's flower is a rose, which I have used to offset the pretty bride. For the base of my card I used SU shimmer paper. I used the QuicKutz frame embossing folder (my newest toy) as a background for my bride. If you haven't guessed by now....my favorite embellishment is "GLITTER". I colored my bride first with copics and then painted over her dress with white lumiere to give it the look of white satin. I then used stickles to highlight her bodice and the folds of her skirt. I used red stickles for her boquet and hairpiece and accented them with green stickles for the flowers. I had a fun time making this card. I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have an awesome weekend.
Hugs,
Carol
