Dueling Darlings Challenge---"Holiday Party What Not to Wear"
Here we are again...I must apologize as life has once again completely taken over...I am trying to slow down and post more but that will be a problem for awhile...sigh...BUT I did have to get my card for this months challenge posted. Our lovely hostesses were Kelly and Jeanette and they picked a wonderful theme for us to do....(my favorite show...heehee)...We were to use the "what not to wear" show as a spring board for the kit they sent to each of us...Our image is Lilah from Instyle stamps and as you can plainly see from the front of my card she really isn't too in style...yikes...
Kelly sent the chock full, fun filled, mismatched kit and boy was it fun to work with...I chose to do a Z fold swing card (first time ever and didn't turn out as well as I had hoped) Kelly sent along some green glitter paper and I couldn't wait to use it...unfortunately I used it on the wrong side so you can barely see it behind Lilah...Isn't her outfit adorable...giggle, giggle...(Stacey was appalled by the way...) I used some of the wonderful dsp to make a pleated skirt for Lilah, colored her funky hair with copics and wrapped some twine around the "dahlia" cut out and anchored a button to it for emphasis...the beautiful poinsettia is on the make over side...heehee...
This picture gives more of the effect of the fold...After looking at Lilah, Stacey and Clinton decided enough was enough and had her completely re-done...from her hair to her toes...
Lilah's hair was colored with copics and her sexy black dress and boots were colored with copics and then colored again with black spica pen so that she sparkles and shines as she sashays through the holiday party....as you can see I used as much of the wonderful dsp as I could...I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for with this challenge...but I had fun re-making Lilah...
The second part of the challenge was to post a pic of ourself or someone else in a "Not to wear" outfit...although I surely have enough of them and quite honestly have worn my fair share...I was unable to find a picture...(thankfully....that means I didn't get caught....yet)...
Thank you for stopping by...I hope you liked my card...Please stop by the rest of the DDD blogs...I am certain you will not be disappointed....I can't wait to see the rest of the wonderful creations...
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

I love the before and after! What a fun challenge it has been this month. It is a wonder that both of our leaders had so much 'interesting' papers to 'match' together!
