Calendar Girls November 2012
Hi all, it is once again time for the amazing Calendar girls...Our theme this month is as follows:
Our November Theme
We choose a holiday in November (not Thanksgiving, but a little-known holiday) and create a card/project with that holiday in mind. Here's a link to Bizarre November Holidays: November Holidays 2012 (Official) Monthly, Weekly, Daily, Bizarre, Silly, Crazy, Unknown Holiday Observances
Well let me tell you...there are a ton of fun crazy holidays for the month of November but I chose to do a more traditional Holiday for my theme. Since it is dear to my heart on many levels....I chose Veterans day. My father-in-law and his 6 brothers were all overseas at the same time, my dad served and my new son-in-law is an active duty Naval reserve...he has served 3 tours in Iraq and plans on making the Navy a career...my favorite uncle was also a veteran...(as were many more in my family).
Here is my card:
I purchased this image from "Our Daily Bread" when they were at the stamp show here in Minneapolis. I loved how they had done their card and although mine isn't like theirs...I do love the image. I used white linen paper for the base and misc dsp I purchased for the 4th of July at Archiver's for accents. My red, white and blue bling were a gift from my sweet friend "Paola"...
Here is the inside of my card:
I really love this whole set of images and sayings. I hope this card reflects the holiday I chose.
Thanks for stopping by....please stop by the other calendar girls and check out their creations...I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
