Calendar Girls January post 2013---woohoo...
Hi all, here we are again...the Calendar girls received this awesome challenge from the amazing Jeanette....it went like this:
JANUARY 2013 CHALLENGE
Miss January: Jeanette
This is a PHOTO INSPIRATION Challenge. But there’s a catch! You have to choose your own photo.
I want you to find a photo – it can be a picture you’ve taken (of a family member, a scenic drive, a food you’ve cooked, whatever) or it can be a picture someone else has taken. Maybe you even found it on the internet. After you’ve chosen the PHOTO you want to use, create a card/project inspired by that photo.
Of course on your blog post – when you show us your creation – we also want to see the photo that inspired you.
How fun is this? Well I have many photos that inspire me but I really tend to gravitate towards photos of the outside with shadows etc....(like my black and white color scheme...kind of stark)...
I'm not sure why I love these kinds of photos but I do and have taken to trying my hand at trying to re-create them or something similar. I found this photo on pinterest and of course pinned it....lol...
Here is my card:
I found this stamp at either JoAnn's or Michael's awhile ago and just had to have it...(insert an eye roll in here,,,[like I really need any more stamps]). Did I say had to have it...I MEANT...I really NEEDED it...anyway, I got it. I used umber card stock from Archiver's for the base and butter cream prisma paper for the background and image. I then sponged 4 different colors of Tim Holtz distressed inks on the prisma paper to create the background. I cut out the oval and mounted it on umber paper that had been cut out with a nestie (can't remember the name right now....sorry). Anyway, I kind of like how this turned out...I hope you do too.
Thanks for stopping by. Please check out the other calendar girls blogs and see what inspired them...Also, I want to shout out a big WELCOME to our newest calendar girl.....Linda Hart...I just know you are going to have fun with this group...
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
