COF January challenge

I'm late for the start of the year COF challenge...(I hope this isn't how the year is going to be ....yikes)..Our wonderful Sharon gave us this challenge:

2013 is here! What a great time to clear out the old to make way for the new.
* For this challenge, I would like to see you use both old stash and new stash to create your card/project.
* To add a little fun to the challenge, I'd love to see you try a new technique -- something you've never done before. You can check out google, youtube, or even the SCS forums and galleries for inspiration!
* Make sure you tell me what's new and what's old and post a link or give a little description of the technique you used.
What a fun challenge...(I think I may have to use this part on my house."2013 is here! What a great time to clear out the old to make way for the new.")Anyway....now on to the challenge and my card...
As per the challenge I have used both old and new with a new technique to me...First of all, what is old...the artichoke base paper, the embossing folder, the nesties I used to cut out the immie, the stamp (from Cornish Heritage), the embossing ink and powder and the water color paper the image is on....What is new....the Tim Holtz daubers and the technique...
For this technique, I first stamped and embossed this pretty flower on water color paper. Then I took Tim Holtz distress daubers and colored in different spots on the paper..once I had the image pretty much covered with the different colored inks I took the lightest (in this case the yellow), and went over the whole image with the dauber making sure all the colors blended..I like how this turned out and plan on using it for a sympathy card for my friend who lost her dad last Friday. After making this card I took it one step further by covering the whole image with versamark and then sprinkling iridescent ice embossing powder over the whole image and embossing the image...It had a pretty sparkly effect however I felt the beautiful glittery effect subdued the colors too much for my taste.
