DDD January 2014- Angels
Hi all, once again it is time to get our duel on and this month of this new year, the hostesses were Melina for the Dazzlers and me for the Divas.. We chose Angels for our theme. I myself believe there are angels among us we just have to be aware and pay attention...but, I'll save that for later. When I put this kit together I used these darling little angels and I believe they are by Judikins however, the little tricksters have hidden and I am still looking for them to confirm the maker. Please forgive me..
When I think of Angels I think of flowers, gardens, peace, tranquility and people who have left earth to spend the rest of time in heaven. The kit contained:
DSP: Paper Pizzaz sponged blue and green
Magnolia summer memories forget me not wallpaper
Basic Grey-sweet threads fashionista
the glittered flower dsp is from a K & Co paper pack
The embellies are a mixture of different flowers I have picked up over the course of time and the ribbons are a mixture of S/U and ribbons I have purchased at garage sales and Tuesday morning.
As I was making my card I had this wonderful idea in my head which did not come out when I made the card. To say I struggled is an understatement. but, I kept at it and did produce a card. I'm not a fan but worked with what I had. I first picked a sketch, after cutting the pieces and making sure my angels would fit I discovered that I had taped the layers on upside down and I had taped it on REALLY good. Since the blue magnolia was my favorite dsp and I had cut the majority of the dsp for this sketch I didn't want to waste it so on to figure it out. I fussy cut the angels and had at one point taken two angels and had thought I'd put them in the two dsp squares on top....nope...too much. I then cut an oval from white and used the white ribbon to weave the center of the oval, giving a semi illusion of window panes in the back ground. I then put the oval on the card and took the two little angels and placed them right on the ribbon and raised the larger angel with mounting tape...oiyyyyy...Here is my card:
As an extra challenge we were to share an angel sighting/story....When my uncle died several years ago, he had a 3 year old granddaughter that was very special to him. (He LOVED little kids). Anyway, after the funeral, her mother, her aunts and her uncles went back to my aunts house to re-fresh and re-group. As they were sitting around the table my uncles little granddaughter laid down on the floor and instantly fell asleep. No one paid much attention but when she woke up she ran to the table and told everyone...I just saw and talked to grandpa and he said to tell you he is feeling really good and you are not to worry...he is fine. She then turned around and went to play with her toys. I really truly believe that there are angels all around us and if we have the faith and curiosity of a child and pay attention..... we will see them.
Thank you for stopping by, please take a minute and check out the other duelers I know have been busy creating....Please stop by their blogs and see the wonderful treats they have for us,,,,
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
