DDD August 2014 Friends are the family we chose for ourselves

First off I must apologize once again. I am sooooooo late and here it was Melina and my turn to host the challenge. We chose "Friends are the family we chose for ourselves" and I had fun creating the kits. I pulled from my stash for this challenge....thus the purple theme. It is out of my comfort zone for a color combo but what the hey....we all have to try something new once in awhile.

I love the Art Impression stamps and sayings so I chose an image from the Girlfriend line. I also had a few sentiments but for my card chose to keep it blank until I found out who I planned on sending my card to.

This is the front of my card. Not a very good picture but......(hopefully one of these days I'll learn how to take better pictures).

I used stripes of the card stock mounted on elegant eggplant SU card stock and the little pearl embellies. Of course no card is complete without at least a touch of glitter so thus the glitter on the head band and glitter pen on the lips.

I am so glad my duelers are my friend family. These gals are wonderful and I love them all.. They are also good sports as well since I'm pretty sure for at least a couple of us this card was really a challenge if only for the color combo...lol..
