November DDD-Give Thanks

Hi all, Well it is still the 15th....our theme for this month is Giving thanks. Shelly is the hostess for the Dazzlers and I am the hostess for the Divas... meaning that I sent out the kit to our group and Shelly to hers.

This is what the Divas were sent:

The theme Shelly and I chose is "Give Thanks". We were thinking of going Thanksgiving but thought give thanks would/could incorporate Thanksgiving or could be a thank you card. Either way we thought fall colors would be a nice touch. With the Holiday Season upon us we reflect upon all that we have to be thankful for so as an extra we would like you to share (if you are comfortable with it), what you are especially thankful for.

Our kit contains....Wheelbarrow image and sentiment from SU's grateful set. The praying boy and girl is from stampendous. The other sentiment came from hobby lobby. The DSP is from a K & Co paper pack I had in my stash. The ribbon came from Michaels. The glitter brown paper tape is

recollections. The other embellishments are from my stash so I don't have the exact companies.

I hope the Diva's got enough supplies to create with however, they are so creative, I'm sure they would make anything work.

I had a hard time deciding on an image so sent 3 along. Both Shelly and I love the fall colors so rich and vibrant. I found a paper pack that I had picked up several years ago. I loved the colors and wasn't sure what I would use it for but DEFINATELY needed it...lol. Apparently I did need it for this challenge. I did try to use at least one side of each dsp and think I managed to. Since I had such a hard time deciding on an image, I used one on a regular card and one of the others on a 3x3 gift card.
Below are my cards:

I tried using a different kind of ribbon treatment not sure how I feel about it but left it on. I used two ribbons one slightly larger than the other and tied them together in 3 places with bakers twine. I then put some sparkly brown dots in the center of each piece of bakers twine. Here is the inside of the card:

I had sent along leaf stickers as I had gotten them at a garage sale and had several packs. I wasn't sure if I was going to use them but thought they kinda looked nice on the inside of the card.

With my 3x3 I cut thin pieces of the leftover dsp and wove them together to create a background. The colored image just didn't pop with the weaving behind it so I took another scrap and used it as backing for the image.

Here is the front and inside of the 3x3.

Lastly, especially during this holiday season we reflect on what we have to be thankful for. It is difficult to pick just one item as there are so many, however, I must say I'm thankful to be an American where we still have choices and we can chose when we get up in the morning to go where we want/need to, leave our homes without fear of being shot, worship in our choice of religious beliefs and pick our friends. There are so many more things I am thankful for, as I say the list is really long.

I am also, thankful for this group of creative ladies. I know if you stop by and check out their creations, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by,
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Carol, your cards are beautiful! Such lovely touches... and I especially like the way you did the ribbon - it's a yes vote from me. ;)

OMGoodness, Carol! You have gone over the top with your sensational card duos! Such a beautiful look to the first lovely card ~ with so much on it, yet it still just stands right out as a Thanksgiving cornocopia of goodness :) I think you used every item in the kit!

The second sweet little image (which stole my heart!) and the criss-cross background - WOW! Super creative, I hadn't thought of that!

Thank you for your kit of gratitude! I'm thankful for your friendship most of all!

Blessings ♥
