DDD January 2018 the theme "Happy New Year"
We start of the New Year is the fresh start of the DDD challenges for 2018. Darlene provided the challenge kit for the Dazzler's and LJ for the Diva's. LJ sent a wonderfully fun kit and between the two of them they provided a real challenge to go along with the kits. See below what LJ sent:
Your kit will involve a little bit of creativity on your part and is a bit different than anything we have done before. Your kit will contain an image of a January 2018 calendar. Now I know ya'all are thinking huh?? that's it? Well Darlene and LJ asked us to incorporate our own image to make a New Years card. It didn't have to be New Years we could chose anything, baby, new marriage, most anything new.
The DSP is a paper pack named Mint to be Fab Foil paper pack from Hobby Lobby. LJ sent along rhinestones (which I used as snow flakes) as well as sequins, misc ribbons and several buttons.
I used an image from Mo Manning to add to the cute paper and embellishments LJ sent along. I chose a card sketch from pinterest that I loosely followed. I used basic black for the base and accents for the dsp on the card. I also used stickles to accent the fur on this little cuties hat and copics to color her. I mounted the little cutie with 3M mounting tape to finish off the layers. Here is the front of my card:
And here is the inside of my card. I used left over dsp from the front of my card to do the inside.
I really had to think about this challenge before getting started on my card. Once I got the dsp I wanted to use and the layout down, it went smoothly.
