Dueling Darlings #7
Well here we are again...in another friendly duel with our dueling sisters the Dazzlers..This month Jamie and April put together our kits. Jamie sent mine and I have to say it was full of fun little items. Jamie had it packaged by paper, embellishments, and die cuts...each in their own little bag labeled and decorated on the top. (Now that is what I call organized...not something I claim to be..). I had a hard time deciding on what kind of card to make. I chose this layout from SCS challenges and added a little of this and a little of that. With the wonderful colors I thought basic black would be a perfect backdrop.
I used a lot of different sparkle and shimmer products on the card. I used my black and red stickles for the mama, the inner tubes and the balloons..I used lumiere on the babies and on the water. I highlighted the babies and water with copics and then went over them with my spica pens...can you tell I was going for glitz and shine....lol..go figure. I then decided since I was shining my image up I would use the beautiful shiny, silver rick rack under the image to give a sense of water/waves...and I used the very pretty silver heart accented by a black heart brad to top off the waves. In the corners I added the pearls to finish off the front. I did have a bit of a battle with my glue gun and unfortunately it won so the top of the card has a wrinkle that I couldn't seem to smooth out....sigh....(sometimes no matter how hard you try....it just doesn't work out...especially when you don't have another piece of identical paper to re-do it with...lol)
I just had to use my 3rd piece of dsp for the inside...(the other two were on the front)..I took both of the wonderful die cut hearts and layered them on the inside snuggled together, I then punched out the sentiment with my heart SU punch. I distressed the sides of the heart with cherry cobbler ink and set it on top of the other two hearts. I hope you like how I used the kit...and I still have more left over...
Thanks for stopping by and please take time to visit both the Divas and the Dazzlers listed on my sidebar..
Until next time....
Hugs,
Carol

Love everything about this card :-)
you did it up, the glitter definitely put a special touch to your card. I think, I will have to go and look at my glitter stash.
