Dueling Darlings-April
Well here I am again late, or as my granddaughter would say.."we're late, we're late for a very special date." and that we are...Life here has taken over and I'm more behind than ever....I missed one of my swap dates and was so sad..then I missed this post..I've decided I need to slow down (but of course that may not happen). lol...
Our kit this month was prepared by the lovely talented Joan...the theme "Movie Night". Melina prepared the kit for the Dazzlers which of course was wonderful as well. Joan sent us so many wonderful items in our kit it was hard to use all of them. The image is from Hampton Art and the dsp was from the Graphic 45 "curtain call" series. Joan included, brads, ribbons, buttons, the roses, picture corners and several images and sayings. Oh my was this fun to work with. I tried to use as much of the kit as possible. I used a cream base and one of the papers layered on top of that..Next I did 3 different panels using 2 of the dsp's backed by cream then my main image cut out with a nestie backed with a black piece cut out with the same nestie only larger..I then used the photo corners to border the image, sponged, aged mahogony and walnut stain ink around the image put it on the black panel and mounted the whole thing with mounting tape.( I thought the ribbon roses accented the image perfectly.)
I ran the pretty brown ribbon and the black/brown narrower ribbon through my tape machine and placed them on the side. I used the buttons and placed the brads in the center to anchor the two ends of the ribbon. My ticket was placed in the center of the ribbon and two amber colored rhinestones were placed on each side of the ticket...I loved this kit....well done Joan...
Make sure you stop by and check out all the Dueling Darlings...I am sure you will not be disappointed...
Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
