First Crafters In Faith Blog Hop

To God who gives our daily bread
A thankful song we raise,
And pray that he who sends us food
May fill our hearts with praise.
Thomas Tallis (1505-1585)

Welcome to the first Crafters of Faith Blog Hop! We are so blessed to have you stop by and celebrate the beauty of AUTUMN with us! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together! If you are just visiting and would like to hop with us, welcome! If you hopping along already, you should have arrived from (Jeanette's) blog.

This month, our hostess is Carol S! She gave us a wonderful Harvest challenge and here is what she asked us to create: "I love FALL, the colors and the smells! I would like to propose that we make a card with fall colors, it should include fruits and vegetables to remind us of the harvest. When my kids were small, I canned peaches and pears, made pickles and such. So much fun to open those jars in the dead of winter! I am looking so forward to the fall festival of Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles). To Biblical historians, this is the actual time of Christ's Birth and many people believe this will also be the season of HIS return. Blessings All!"

To celebrate in this glorious season upon us, here is the card I created for you!

For my card I used a pumpkin patch stamp I got at a garage sale a long time ago. I had looked for a fruits and vegetable stamp, but came across this and thought it might work. I embossed the image on water color paper and used my water color crayons from SU to color this image. You can't see it very well but the sky is colored in Bashful blue and the area under the pumpkins is always artichoke and olive. I used more mustard, cherry cobbler and early espresso card stock and the dsp came from a pack of paper I was gifted. I also used a bit of stickles on the pumpkins and leaves. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about how this turned out as it isn't exactly what I had envisioned....but hope that you like it...

From here, continuing hopping to (_Kadie's) blog to see what Autumn splendor she has waiting for you! We also have a special little giveaway for one lucky hopper today and you can find that on Kelly's blog - the last stop on the hop!

Thank you for stopping by today! In this glorious season of Fall, and the wonders of the earth changing to gorgeous colors .... in a time of gratitude and thanksgiving ... we wish many blessings for you!!

A special thanks to Kelly for starting this group and for the guidance she shares with us every day..

Until next time,

September Calendar Girls....

This month our wonderful Miss September Paola, aka.....Sweet P. gave us this challenge:

Our September Theme

Hello Calendar Girls,

To honour a dear longtime friend of mine who passed away early today, I would like to request that you create a beautiful card using the following guidelines:

Your card must be a fancy fold, and have apples stamped on it -and colored-
(OR, if you don't own any apples's stamps, apples can be incorporated on your cards via designer papers, stickers, dies etc..), plus have at least one 3-D butterfly on your card too.

The main colors used for this challenge are to be your own favourite colors (use at least two of them please, and tell us which ones they are once you blog it.)

Why the apples/butterflies combos you may ask?

My friend used to bring me tons and tons of beautiful apples from her garden at about this time of the year as the fall season just starts to appear, and today, at the hospice, she was covered in a gorgeous handmade blanket full of beautiful colorful butterflies as we said our final goodbye....A bigger 3-D all white sequined butterfly was placed on top of her heart too...♥

Please note: Your cards are NOT to be sympathy cards at all, please keep them ‘happy/festive’ - as a celebration of LIFE in general! ♥

♥ Hug a friend's way too short!

Thank you and God Bless to all! ♥

Paola / Miss September

And here is my card for this wonderful challenge...

I thought about it long and hard and remembered I had this truck full of apples. I have always love this stamp by SU (country side). I used water color paper for the background and embossed the truck on the water color paper with black embossing paper. I then colored the image with water color crayons.  I also cut out the butterflies from the SU emboss-let  beautiful wings. After I had cut out the butterflies I colored them with water color crayons as dabbing on the color...some areas are darker than others and white shows through in places but that is how nature is...nothing is exactly all one solid color. I made this easel card to follow the guidelines of the fancy fold. The base of my card is Umber which is a black/dark brown color I love. The blue on the truck is discontinued brilliant blue my other favorite color on this card...I must admit though that the red would also fall into the favorite catagory...(if you look closely, you will see I didn't put any glitter on this card...SHOCK...) as I was taking the picture I thought to myself....those little butterflies could certainly use a touch of glitter but I did have to get this next

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.....please stop by the other calender girls blogs...I am sure you will not be disappointed...

Until next time,

Mystery Image Swap

Yesterday was the day our mystery image cards were due and believe it or not,.....mine made it there on I have been a bit behind most of the summer so was glad I wasn't sending PRIORITY last minute. Samantha sent us this cute SU pig image from a retired set cured yet?. When it was actually out I had thought about buying it but never got around to it so it was so much fun to receive the images to work with.

Here is my card:

I found the technique to make the background on Gina's stamp tv and tried it out for this card..I like how it kinda looks like a quilt. I started to color with copics but changed over to water color color crayons as the ink started to run a bit. I made my little pigs cheeks really pink just like she had a fever....

Anyway, thanks Samantha for the fun image...

Thanks also for stopping by....

Until next time...

Dueling Darlings Sept post

Hi all, here I am late...late, late...and I am so sorry. Our challenge this month was to take our leftovers from the kits we have received from our dueling teammates and create a card using the left overs. Now I have been absent for awhile and don't know if we were supposed to identify (if we could remember) where everything came from but ....sadly...I'm not sure about everything. I do know the 3 dsp's and image used on my card came from my kit from Judy as well as the sentiment...but not sure about the embellishements...I used umber card stock from Archivers for the base of my card and the SC392 sketch found Here. I thought I could showcase the beautiful dsp's and use more of them with this sketch....I kind of like how this turned per my motto..."everything is better with glittah" this image has it's fair share of it. The photo doesn't do a very nice job of showing it though...

Here is the inside...a bit blurry...(just not my day...). but I think you get the drift...I am hoping to be more prompt in this upcoming month...

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to stop by the other dueling darlings to see what their creative mojo produced...

Until next time,
