October 2015 DDD Falling into Friendships

I am late posting this month and am sorry for that. Been a crazy, busy few months however, here I am. I finally made it...

This month our amazing hostesses were Debbie for the Darlings and Judy for the Divas. Judy sent us a kit chock full of goodies...

Debbie and I have chosen the theme “Falling Into New Friendships” for our October 2015 duel. The theme is to welcome new team members, Suzi with the Divas and Tracie and Shelly with the Dazzlers.

Your kit includes the following items:
Paper: doodlebug design inc. “happy harvest”; Bo Bunny “a gift of love”; me&my Big ideas “Harvest” ;
Recollections “Mercury Glass”
Stamped Images: Memory Box “Twizzle Tree”; Stampin’ Up “ Time Well Spent”
Die Cuts: Tree, Little B “Autumn”; Leaves, Impression Obsession DIE095-D; ittle B “Autumn;
Designer Craft Dies “Leafy Foliage
Ribbon: Celebrate It Sheer Creations (orange and green); Stampin’ Up (Chocolate Chip and So Saffron”
Twine: American Crafts (red); unknown baker’s twine (beige and white)
Embellishments: My Paper Studio Spare Parts Clips; Recollections maple leaf brads; miscellaneous buttons, rhinestones, sequins

I kept looking at my kit and wondering how I was going to try and create something a little different. First I thought color the tree....but that didn't really strike my fancy so I decided to use some of the fun embellies Judy sent.... Here is the front of my card...

I used SU soft suede for the base of my card and basic black. I only used one of the beautiful dsp's Judy sent. I do love it and all the rest of them as well. I used some of the sequins to accent the image and a ribbon to finish it off. I thought that I could add a happy birthday or saying of some sort on the bottom of the here is the inside.

I used the little tree Judy had cut up along with some of the smaller leaves to create the inside as well as some twine and the leaf brad.

I hope you like the card. Please stop by the rest of the Duelers blogs and check out their creations. I know you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for stopping by.

Sept DDD--Woohoo Dueling again.

Hi all, I'm back. We took a little break and we are once again dueling. This month Jeanette for the Darlings and Kelly for the Divas did our theme. Kelly sent the most wonderful kit and it was so much fun working with. The DSP colors were so beautiful. I wanted to hoard them all but did use 3 of them on my card...You can't see the subtle polka dot dsp as it is the base of my double fold embellies as well...great job on the kit Kelly.....

I first must apologize to Kelly as I misplaced the deets for the kit. (We are moving and have had several people helping so I'm not sure where the list was placed... :( ). Anyway way I know Kelly did ask us to use an apple on the card somewhere. I really like green apples so had to make at least one of my apples green. I used the red wooden flower and heart and strung some of the brown ribbon to them to use as a pull for the 2 tags. I also used the the sentiment Kelly sent on one of the tags and one of the pretty labels on the other..I really had fun with this challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by I do appreciate it. If you have some time please stop by the other duelers and see what they have created. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,

DDD June 2015 Show your Patriotism

Hi all....July 1st and I'm posting...ughhhh...I had knee surgery and much to my dismay I didn't get a lot of crafting done the first couple weeks. I finally got my DDD card done then promptly misplaced it along with my my mind is back with me and I think I'm on my way to crafting again. Our wonderful hostesses for this round were Terry for the Darlings and Barb for the Divas....Barb sent us an amazing kit chock full of red, white and blue papers, embellishments and ribbons. The image is Glory Bee from whipper snapper....awesome image to work with and the oh my...So I attempted to create a bee hive with the dsp's with a door. The handle on the door uses one of the brads as a knob. In the upper left hand corner of the card is a cute red-white and blue hat brad I thought would be wonderful to use on the card...Here is the card:

On the inside of the card I used some remaining dsp to add some interest...

I took the pictures with my camera to see if I would have an easier time incorporating it into the blog. Jury is still out on that one...

An added challenge was to let you know what I personally think of when I see the here goes.
My FIL-father--BIL--niece and son in law were/are all in the service. I am so proud when the flag is presented, it almost gives me goose bumps. I am grateful for all the men, women and families that have sacrificed for us so that we are able to live the lives we now do....I am forever grateful to them.

I know I'm late in posting but I would love for you to drop by the other DDD blogs as I am sure you won't be disappointed....

Thanks so much for stopping by..

Until next time...

DDD May 2015 "Summertime"

Here I am the hostess of this months challenge for the Diva's and I'm posting three days late. This month the Darlings hostess is April...we put our heads together and April threw out some awesome ideas. We decided on Summertime as a theme and anything but a swap as a twist to the theme. I was so excited to have the twist added until I tried to do up my kit. ughhhhh,.....what was I thinking???? I sent the Diva's images from Su's retired set "good ol summertime", I sent misc dsp from my stash along with ribbons I took from my stash. I purchased some recollection embellies and sent off the kit. I also sent along a box to help with the twist (as I found several of them in my stash as well). I made a pizza box from the kit which included 4--3x3 cards and envelopes. I have only 3 of the little cards in my pictures. is my project:

After much struggling I finally got the pictures loaded...what a chore that was and I'm not sure why it gave me so darn much trouble this month...again I apologize.....

Thank you for stopping by and please stop by the other DDD's and check out their creations.....I am sure you won't be disappointed..

DDD April Challenge I picked a flower for you

Hi all, Finally I am here. I love this duel but I am still struggling with my camera and uploading. Oh well. This month Melina made the kits for the Dazzlers and Tami did the Diva's kits. Oh what a kit was provided. I colored up my image the minute I got my kit and started pondering the layout and which of the beautiful dsp I would use. Tami gave us a wonderful assortment to chose from. I finally settled on the polka dot pink border from bazzil for the front of the car, the swiss dots-n-flowers dry embossed paper, and a couple of the My Minds Eye My Girl papers. The image is Great Impressions Stamps--Lizzy dressed up. We also had ribbons rhinestones, flowers....a whole assortment of fun with a twist. We were asked to use the green ribbon somewhere on our card. See if you can find mine ...

You got it. I chose to accent the image in the corners with my green ribbon a little hard to tye the bows but I was on a

Here is the inside of my card.
I chose one of the cute dsp and cut my border from it. I then added the flower and rhinestone that was in the kit.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you liked my card. Please stop and visit the other dueling darlings and see what they have created. I am sure you will not be disappointed..

March 2015 DDD challenge card

Hi all, Here I am with my card for this months duel. It is still the 15th so I guess I am on time. (I'm so slow). The hostesses for this months duel were Paola for the Darlings and Kadie for the Divas. The theme for this month is "Whats your brew?" Kadie sent the most wonderful kit. It contained two images, A/I Cathy Caffeine and MFT A la mode you're my cup of tea. I colored both images the same day I got them as I couldn't decide if I liked coffee or tea really depends on the day and the weather. I did chose the coffee image in the end as I do drink that more consistently. The dsp is from Prima--coffee break collection and I used the Amuse Studio (coral Twine) along with the coffee stirer and rhinestone from Simple Stories. I colored the image with copics and used SU silver glitter glue for Cathys earrings. So..... here is my card.

It is hard to see the rhinestones but they are under the cup on the stir stick and in the O in hot java.

Here is the inside of my card:

I used the extra paper from the dsp I cut for the front to create the inside of my card..

We were supposed to share what kind of tea/coffee we liked as well. I am a fan of medium brew coffee and latte's, and Chai tea.....yummm.....

Thanks for stopping by. Please stop by the other DDD team members blogs, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

DDD February 2015 Challenge Umbrellas

This month for our friendly duel, Laura Jean was the wonderful kit creater for the Divas and Darlene was the kit creator for the Dazzlers. We got an awesome kit from LJ and this is the details LJ sent:

Our theme this month is Umbrellas! Believe it or not, National Umbrella Day is February 10th. Darlene and I thought it would be fun to think spring. since we have seen too much white stuff this winter

Here are the contents of the kit I sent:
Images: Sophie (Whipper Snapper Designes) Single Umbrella (Stamping Bella). Row of umbrellas (Stampendous)

Patterned paper: Hello Summer (Echo Park)
Accessories: 3D flower (K&Co), White "pretty ribbon" (Hobby Lobby), all other ribbon (SU!), White Bow (paper studio), Butterfly Chipboards (Heidi Swapp) Asst Buttons, Twine (MME).

Well I must say it was a fun, fun, fun kit to create with. I tried to use as much of the kit as I could. I loved the little girl and her umbrella and couldn't wait to color up the image.

Here is my kit....

i used the little flower in the corner to offset the orange circle in the upper left hand corner. I colored the image with copids and tried to use the colors that were the closest to the dsp. I used the umbrella image for the inside with the same it i:

I must apologize for the pictures. They are kind of dark as I had to take them inside with overcast skies.

Thank you for stopping by please stop by the other ddd's blogs and see how they used their kits, I am sure you will not be disappointed...

Art Impressions Challenge have a heart

I have had a love of AI stamps every since I was introduced to them by my friend Cheryl when she purchased some fronts and backs at a garage sale. She didn't know if they were current or not so I went to the internet and walla I discovered AI stamps. I have been picking them up every once in awhile ever since. I found the AI challenge after one of my sweet friends submitted a card and won....I am now checking the AI blog to see awesome creations and fun cards. This challenge asks that you use a heart on your creation. For my card I used the Stuck in the 80's set. I found the designer paper in my stash from a paper pack I bought quite a while ago. The brown paper is early expresso from SU and the red is Cherry Cobble also from SU. I paper pieced the outfits and used copics to color the rest of the image. So without further chatter here is my card:

And here is the inside of my card:

As you can see I used layered hearts in the corners on the front and I carried the hearts to inside of my card as well.

Thank you for stopping by, I do appreciate your taking a look..

January 2015 Duel--BIrth of a New Year

Hi all, It looks like I am starting the new year off on a bad foot....I had my card ready and had computer troubles so am doing this on my lunch at work. This month our lovely hostsess's were Debbie from the Dazzlers and Judy from the Divas. Here is the challenge they presented to us:

Birth of a New Year!

Greetings Divas!
Welcome to a new year full of new beginnings. Debbie and I chose “Birthdays” as the theme for the first duel in 2015. I can’t remember if birthdays have ever been used as a theme before and thought it appropriate for the “Birth of a New Year”! Also I had a little self-serving motive as January is a month full of birthdays for my family and friends, as well as, my own. And I’m always looking for inspiration for creating new birthday card designs. I had a lot of fun putting this kit together and I hope you find inspiration in creating cards from all the items listed here:

Paper: My Mind’s Eye “the sweetest thing” (3 sheets); My Mind’s Eye “Nostalgia” (1 sheet); 1 sheet Crate Paper

Images: Art Impressions “Girlfriends” (image and sentiment); Stampin’ Up, “Take A Spin”; Inkadinkago “Birthday Cupcake” (image and sentiment); Sweet and Sassy “Carnation”; Stampabiilities “May Your Birthday Be Filled”

Embellishments: Ribbon: variety from Michael’s; twine by American Crafts; Buttons: clear Stampin’ Up, others unknown; Faux pearls: Stampin’ Up and unknown; Flowers: Recollections and Prima; Brads: variety from Michael’s; Spinner from Stampin’ Up; Sequins and Rhinestoneand metal elelments unknown; Birthday tags from DCWV kit.

Do you have a birthday occasion that is memorable? Is there a birthday gift you received that was a favorite? We would love to hear your story!

First let me tell you...When I started working with the amazing kit Judy sent I thought maybe it was my birthday it was sooooooo full of goodies. When deciding what to use I looked at all the immies and chose the carnations as I am a big fan of carnations. I used 4 of the 5 sheets of dsp (a part of each), and a few of the embellies. What fun I had. Here is the front of my card.

And here is the inside of my card.

It took me forever to figure out how to upload the pictures. New programs always confuse me. Anyway enough chatter about that. Our second challenge was to tell about a birthday that sticks out in our mind or a favorite gift. When we were little my dad would take me and my sister and brothers fishing after supper. We would do the dishes in a hurry just to be able to go. Since my birthday is in June and we were able to go out and play and throw a line in when my dad would take us. Well around the time I was 8 or so my mom and dad gave me a fishing pole for my birthday I was over the moon excited to be able to go out and use my new fishing pole.......WELL my dear brother gave me the chicken pox for my birthday as well. I broke out before I could take that awesome pole out and try it out. Much to my brother did the honors for me. (Actually I was furious when I found out he had gone fishing with dad and pirated my pole to use). Even though he got to use the pole first I loved that fishing pole and made good use of it.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. Now that I'm getting the hang of how to upload I will try and get better on posting....Please stop by all of the DDD blogs and see what they have created from these fun kits. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,
