Mo's Challenge #75

Hi all, back today with my card for Mo's Challenge #75 "Show me some attitude".. and I think this image really screams attitude...lol.

Don't ya just love it?? Laying out on the beach with a bikini on, umbrella drink in hand not a care in the world....(including not having her top tied...lol...tried that once...learned my lesson)...I used SU wild wasabi for the base of my card and SU pretty in pink along with wild wasabi to back my image and the retired SU dsp. The flowers came from a pack of puffy stickers I found in a clearance bin at Archivers and the rhinestones were in the dollar spot at Michaels which I have had for a long time just waiting for the perfect place to use them...I'm looking forward to summer, although I must admit...I won't be wearing a bikini NOR have my top untied..giggle, giggle..I will however have something cold to drink...a diet coke perhaps and maybe I'll throw an umbrella in my glass to fulfill the fantasy of having no cares in the world and lounging on a beach somewhere in the tropics...

Calendar Girls Challenge

Hi all, first off I want to wish Kelly a" Happy, Happy Birthday"....hope you get spoiled silly today...you so deserve it!!!

Our Challenge for today was created by none other than April....and what a challenge it was...must say I was stretched here for sure. I tried my technique 3 times before I could think about putting it on my card...lol...(I wish some of that stretching would've thinned me out and made me taller...heehee...). In April's own words here was the challenge:

For our challenge this month, I wanted to challenge us with a three-fer. It is the third month after all!

1. Since Spring is right around the corner and I am so looking forward to it, I'd like everyone to use a stamp/stamps/digi(s) that portray something YOU are looking forward to! It can be Spring, Summer, vacation, a holiday, or even a nice dinner!

2. I'd like you to use a technique or product that "scares" you. In my case, it could be glitter or spray Smooch. Just make it something that you admire and have procrastinated trying or using!

3. Lastly, I'd like you to use the attached sketch. You can interpret it however loosely you wish. I would just like CS/DP to follow my sketch - add all the layers and embellies you see fit. The sketch can be rotated and proportions can change - it is just a rough drawing!

I can wait til the 28th to see all of our creations! And I hope you have as much fun thinking of this throughout the month of March as I had dreaming it up!

First of all I am looking forward to spring, the trees blossoming, NO SNOW!!! and the sweet smell of newness to once again cover the earth. I chose to use Penny Blacks Christmas Park (go figure) stamp...although my interpretation suggests spring to me, at dusk when the day is starting to fade....I used the reflection technique as that has scared me for some time now..It took as I said at LEAST 3 tries to get to this point.

It was fun but challenging...I also used my new pan-pal chalks to do the coloring and shading of the image and the two little tags. (When I saw the pan-pal chalks being demonstrated I thought.....hmmmmm...that looks easy enough. I should know by now that when I think that, it surely will not be as easy as I am sure it is...sheesh...you would think I would've learned by now, but NO...not me...) I used a SU punch to make the little border and highlighted it with the tiniest pearls in the SU pearl pack. The multi-colored purple paper is some DSP I picked up a VERY LONG time ago...I think it may have been at JoAnn's but I am not sure and the main card is the new Concord Grape from SU... I did try to follow the sketch exactly as April drew it out.

If you have some time stop by the other Calender blogs and check out their amazing creations you will not be disappointed of this I am sure...

Mo's Challenge #74

Hi all, I have been trying to get a chance to work on my card for Mo's challenge all weekend. I finally finished it on Saturday evening and took a picture yesterday only to have my hubby busy working on my computer so I didn't get to do a blog post...:( , so I had to wait until today. I guess better late than never.

The theme of the challenge was "Lets hear it for the boys" and I couldn't resist using "Tex". (I originally got this image to do a scrapbook page for Lorie to send  on the birth of her first grand baby. I thought he would make a fun card for this challenge...lol. I love the pacifiers in his gun belt and the bottle holders...

I used SU night of navy for the base of my card and brushed gold to mount the image and the fun dsp on.( I used scraps of dsp I had from before so am not sure where the original dsp came from._ in the course of finishing the card off I originally wanted to put a sherrif's star in the corner. One punch was too big and the other a tad bit small so I used the smaller one and put a brushed gold star in the two corners....it didn't look quite right to me so I offset a shiny gold star of the same size and placed a gold stickles dot in the center (creating by total surprise to me.....a stirrup which a ma call it--as you can see I don't know what its name is but my dear friend Cheryl did and when she told me I didn't write it down...duh)....Cheryl, by the way was so taken with the card I decided she should have it...lol..

Thanks for stopping by...

Dueling Darling Challenge

Hi all....here I am late but here none the less...lol...had a hard time last night getting my pictures to upload and I finally gave up and went to bed...I was tired and worn out and figured it was better to just give up and try again today..(trust me this was the best for all concerned). I looked at the pictures I snapped last night and just let me say.....I must have been tired they were awful. I'm a bad photographer but .....sheesh... I re-took the pics when I got home from work and they are a bit better...lol...

This month Kelly was our wonderful hostess and our theme was "being a kid at heart". Our kit was full of fun, bright colors and tons of wonderful things to play with. I swear I could have made 2 more cards with all the goodies (and will probably do that, when life settles down a bit). I had a hard time using it all but decided to do a gatefold card. I used some of the fun bright dsp for the front folds and decided to do a patchwork of sorts. We had beautiful ric-rac cut paper and I divided the two dsp's with the pretty periwinkle ric-rac. Our image was a fun Riley bouncing on a bouncy ball (like I had when I was little and did we have fun with those).

I used the new SU concord grape for a base and colored my Riley with copic markers. I took two of the bright beautiful flowers Kelly sent and folded them to make them a bit smaller to fit in the corners. I placed buttons in the bottom center of the flowers and put the small sticky brads in the center. As you all know, I rarely make a card that doesn't have SOME glitter so of course I had to add a touch of that to highlight the motion lines and of course the flower centers...lol...

The next part of the challenge was to use an item Kelly selected that reminded her of her childhood. This was a puzzle piece from a Winnie the Pooh puzzle. I was hoping to incorporate it on the front of my card but chose the inside instead.

Since it was a puzzle piece I thought the saying would tie in with it "how old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?"....that my friend is a puzzling question for me...(probably "2" heehee).

Thanks for stopping by, if you get a chance stop by the other Diva and  the Dazzler blogs...you won't be disappointed...their cards are awesome..

Until next time,

Thinking of you....

My wonderful friend Kelly whom I have gotten to know from SCS...shared with us the other day, a story of sorrow and tragedy. One of her sil's nephews was hurt badly in a very cruel accident. (If you know Kelly, you will know she has a that knows no bounds...and she is generous in her praise and love that she so willing shares with all her family and friends...) Kelly told us how this young man is so courageously dealing with this painful journey. In the responses to her post someone had asked if we could send cards as well as prayers...Kelly provided an address to send the cards to and is also updating us as she is updated...I made this card for this fine young man using a bugaboo image colored with copics...I am hoping it is not too childish for him (I was going more for the animated/cartoon look)...

I love the puppy dog eyes and hope that this wonderful young man knows that there is a mass of prayer warriors on his side...

Thanks for stopping by.....until next time.

Mo's Challenge #73-Sistahood March card

I'm back...lol...it is either feast or famine for me..or at least it seems like it anyway. Have been working extra hours so there is not a lot of "fun" computer time for me...:(...Today I have a card I made for Mo's challenge "A bit of green"...and for April's theme for the sistahood card. April challenged us to make boys cards this month and since I only have girls this was a real challenge for me especially since I love glitter and bling....plus I really am not quite sure what tween age boys would like. I used Mo's image "Paul texting" for this challenge. (I thought about Paul on the computer but texting seemed more appropriate since everyone I see seems to be texting someone and it really is either guys or girls). Since I don't text myself..(electronic device challenged here...) I asked my friend Linda to help me with a sentiment of sorts for the card...she said too bad you can't do a smiley face and the b-day 2 U...well....I did manage to do that on my computer and print it out so that I could cut it out with my circle punch back it with the brown and mount it on my card...(I was pretty proud of myself at this point...heehee). Mo's challenge of using green comes into play in the background paper (SU artichoke), the hat and shirt stripe and in the fine lines of the scrapbook walls Tie Plaid dsp...

I hope you like my card today and that April likes it as well.

Until next time.....

Mo's Challenge #72- C4C77

Well it has been a crazy week here...I have hardly been on my computer but I did get a chance to make a card for Mo's Challenge and I used a sketch from Crazy for You (which I loved and thought worked out perfectly)..:). The theme from Mo's this week was babies. I love this baby image and had been coloring it awhile back...I didn't have a purpose while I was coloring more just playing around and practicing using my copics...anyway, when I saw the challenge I immediately went back to my colored image envelope and picked it up. When I saw the Crazy 4 You challenge it all just came together....

I didn't add a sentiment as I think it would work well for a new baby or even a baptism. I used two different cuttlebug folders to create the white layer this precious little baby is laying on as well as a circle nestie and one of the other decorative nesties. On the decorative nestie I have covered the little holes with tiny white pearls from SU and I have used liquid pearls at the diamond junctions and for the baby's bracelet.

Stylish award

I am honored and totally stunned....and speechless to boot...(something I never am...lol)) I received the stylish award from  Kimmaire. While she was going through the C & Co blog hop, she picked my blog to bless with this award...thank you so much.

My instructions are to tell 8 things about myself:
1. I have been collecting/stamping since 1998 but didn't seriously stamp until 2004 (I know crazy huh).
2. I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter.
3. I played piano for our very small church from the time I was 12 until I was 24. (I love listening to piano music while I stamp...particularly Lorie Line).
4. I have met the best friends through stamping and most of them I haven't met in person...
5. I started playing with copics last year and totally love using them...
6. I love watching feel good chick flicks..
7. I have tried many crafts but have enjoyed my stamping the best and for the longest period of time ever.
8. I am the oldest of 6 kids...there are 3 boys and 3 girls and now tons of nieces and nephews along with some great-nieces and nephews...fun times at family functions...new babies...lots of cuddling..woohoo..

The next thing I am to do is pick 8 bloggers to pay it forward to: I am struggling with this as I have 9 so will pass it on to all of them as they are relatively new to blogging (as I am)..and I really think this is so special...Also, they are talented, supportive and wonderfully creative...
1. April
2. Barb
6.Sweet P (Paola)
7. Tami
9. Terry

Lastly I am going to let each of them know I have passed this award on to them...

Thank you again Kimmarie, for this wonderful honor and treat...
