July Calendar Girls "Cute and Cuddly"

I'm a bit late in getting my card posted today but it was to dark to get a picture when I finished my card I thought I'd wait for better lighting and then post...Our lovely hostess this month is Miss July our Lovely Linda. Here is her challenge for this month:

Miss July: Linda

I would like it to be "Cute and Cuddly". The cuddly being a huggable moose, or a raccoon, or a bear, etc. I really enjoy the Riley stamps and Penny Black hedgehogs, but I'm asking you to pick your favorite furry creature stamp and make a card with any sentiment. I happen to be a hoarder of cute stamps, maybe because my kids share in my stamping addiction. It's always fun to see those little critters come to life on a card.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I love cute and cuddly as well and have many stamps to chose from in this category. I chose a little doggie from Whipper Snapper. (One that was purchased this spring in WI during a very fun get together), called pocket pup. What a fun little guy to work with...I chose a sketch from MFT to use for my card. I used mahogany paper for the base and used dsp from echo park (woof stripe) and Best creations (puppy love) on my card. Here is my card:

The sketch from MFT:

And the inside of my card:

On the inside I used a piece of the puppy love dsp as I thought it was so darn cute.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my card. Please stop by the other calendar girls and check out their creations as well....I am sure you will not be disappointed...

Until next time,

A Day for Daisies, Challenge #74

As some of you know I have a sweet friend who is on the DT for a Day for Daisies..I was lucky enough to visit her this past spring and fell in love with her cards and the Day for Daisies site. I have been trying to do some of the challenges  and this one was to use a die cut...(as well as one of their images). Well I went a little crazy looking at the site and have a wish list quite long,. but have been purchasing images in batches. For this challenge I had a hard time deciding which image to use but the Birds in her Hair image won out.

Here is my card:

As you can see I chose to use the deckle rectangles for the image and the background. I cut out the arm so that it stretches out over the background piece. I then edged the layers with purple ink. Of course my birds have a little glitter on them...(but I am sure this comes as no surprise). I had purchased the corner embossing folder at a clearance sale awhile ago so I am not sure what the name of the folder is but, I did hit the tops of the embossing with the same purple I used to accent the dies. I also, put a few rhinestones into the dry embossing to give it a little more pop....

Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate it.

Until next time,

Mo's Challenge #192---Celebrate Love

Yay, I finally get to do a Mo's challenge. It has been a while as life has taken over most of this hoping it slows down a bit since I am getting into the routine at work a bit better and am not working weekends...woohoo....

As you all know I love Mo's images and decided that Tom and TIlly made a perfect pair for this challenge.
Here is my card:

I had a different idea for this card and this is totally the opposite direction but I think it turned out ok. I played with some of my new and old nesties and had a good time while I was at it...

Thanks so much for stopping by..I appreciate it

Until next time,

Dueling Darlings June 2013

Well here we are again...the 15th of the month and we all know what that means....Duelers take your mark, get set....DUEL.... Our lovely hostesses for this month are (my former partner) Debbie, a.k.a Lil dj for the Dazzlers and the beautiful Barb for the Divas....

The theme for this month was "Cool Creations" and Barb sent us a kit plumb full and overflowing with goodies..Love the dsp, all the embeillies and of course the cute whipper snapper, fun, fun...Ok, on with the card....

I used SU midnight muse for the base of my card and chose the memorable Note Records-Stripes/patterns and Memorable Note detalis, dots/paisley dsp (all the dsp sent was wonderful). I colored my little guy with copics and used souffle markers on the ice cream. (I wasn't a fan on the effect if gave however). I used the cute little ice cream cone brad and the bakers twine to finish off the front of my card.

Here is the inside:

I used the scraps from the front to finish off my inside along with the colored brads Barb sent along...what a fun kit and I still have alot left over to play with...

As an extra challenge we were asked to share our favorite summer cooler...right now my #1 favorite is chocolate chunk, cherry ice cream....yumm.....(I have to quit eating it though as it likes me just as much as I like it and it keeps hanging on - to my hips, belly, arms, get the picture)...

Thank you for stopping by, I would love if you would stop by the other duelers and check out their creations...I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,
