DDD November 2017 Toadily Happy

Hi All, it is once again time for the duelers to get their duel on.  Debby was the leader of the Dazzlers and Suzy was the leader for the Divas. What a fun kit she sent. Suzy sent two Penny Black images from the Toadily set and a sentiment. She sent misc designer papers and embellishments. I have to apologize as I had made my cards and had the list to start my post, by the time I got back to posting I couldn't find the list. (We lost our dog between card making and posting and I just couldn't find the details so am sorry Suzy for not listing all the wonderful things you included in the kit). It was a fun kit to work with. So much fun I actually made 2 cards. I am a huge fan of Penny Black stamps...
I do remember that Suzy had written that when she and Debby were talking about the theme they had said everyone is so busy hopping around this time of the year....and thus the theme. It definitely is a busy time of the year.

Here are my cards:

On the top card I made a little flower from the bakers twine and turquoise flat head embellishment. Suzy sent the flowers and rhinestones that I combined and put on the card to the left.

Thank you so much for stopping by. If you have time, please stop and see the rest of the duelers cards. I am certain you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,
Hugs,

DDD October 2017 "Halloween"

Hi All, it is once again the 15th of the month and we are once again dueling. The fearless leaders of the dueling groups are: Terry L for the dazzlers and Tami P for the divas. I am one of the divas so I received an awesome kit from Tami. The wonderful kit included an image from Red Rubber Designs "Delightfully Spooky" and two sentiments as well. The dsp was from Tami's stash as well as the embellishments (just to insert a note here: YAY Tami ..she has been on a mission to pull from her stash for quite some time and she has done an excellent job of it with our kits). There is no special extra challenge this month (good thing as I usually seem to miss that part in my creating mode. :( ).

I enjoyed playing with this kit and as usual wanted to come up with something that would use most of the dsp. I found a layout on pinterest from Operation Write Home it is the sketch challenge #83. Much to my delight it used 5 strips of paper on the front panel. Walla, 5 of the 6 dsp on the front of the card. I did change the shape of the image and moved it from the right to the left, but it still is similar to the sketch.

Here is my card:

I colored the cute little witch with my copic markers and used Tami's pretty green ribbon on top of the bottom piece of cardstock. I mounted the happy halloween saying on a scrap of the paper taken off one of the strips of dsp I used for my layout.

On the inside I mounted the other saying on a scrap of one of the panels and I then cut the other scraps into 1x1 pieces and then in a diagonal to place little corners on the paper to finish off the inside.

I'm not much of a Halloween card sender however, I do have a friend who LOVES Halloween. I was telling her about a cute sign I had seen at Michaels and since she is a safety director she said she had to have it....I am going to send her the little sign:

along with my card as a little Halloween treat.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I do appreciate it. Please stop by the duelers blogs on my sidebar and see what they have created. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

August DDD Catch of the Day

Hi all, once again the duelers are posting their cards for this months duel. The theme is "Catch of the Day". The leader of the Dazzlers is Shelley and I was the challenger for the Divas. I did give them a challenge....(sorry) .... I picked out papers and embellies however, it wasn't until I was creating my own card I realized that my choices could have been better. I have confidence in the Divas though as they are very creative. This is what their kits included:

Your kit includes dsp from Sugar Tree Haufman Brothers collection Fishy squares and multi lake fish as well as Reminisce "tropical dreams and assorted papers from a going to the lake paper pad. The images are Ralph Fishing from Rubbernecker, Studio 112 fish FunStampers journey Big Catch and Whipper Snapper fisher man. For embellies outlet eyelet deep sea brad and fishing pole brad. I also included some bobbers I made from pearls and assorted ribbons from my stash.

I chose a card sketch that used several pieces of designer paper. I also love the whipper snapper fisherman image so I had colored that up with my copics. I was not super happy with my card however, it is growing on me. Here is my card:

I hope you have a chance to stop by the other duelers blogs and galleries. I am sure you will not be disappointed with their creativity..

Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate it.
Until next time,

Christmas in July

This month our challenge your stash challenge was issued by me. I know I have alot of Christmas stamps and embellishments but only use a very few of them come Christmas time as I make the same card to send out to everyone so I don't forget whose has gotten what. I found this little house mouse image and immediately fell in love with it a couple years ago. I really was impressed with the way the original card I saw was colored but hesitated to color up my image as I wasn't sure I could do it justice.
I finally colored my images up the end of last year and set them aside. When I issued this challenge I picked them up and made this card:

The gold paper is by K and Co "Christmas Cheer Gold Words Foil Paper" and the green is Basic Grey "Jovial Frosted Window" the little round Peace embellishment is also from K and Co. I know I purchased the paper and embellishments from Archivers so I have had it sitting around for several years as the store I purchased it in has long ago closed up.

I hope you like the card. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your checking my blog out.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Mystery Image Challenge

This mystery challenge was hosted by the lovely Terry L.  A group of gals take turns hosting this group. When you are the hostess you send an image in with your return cards and that image is the new "mystery" image. No one knows what image is until they get it with your returned cards. We each make 4 cards with the same image. The hostess keeps one and each of us get three different cards back. It is fun and we get new and fun images that we most often don't have. This month Terry chose "heres the story" by My Favorite Things.

I used Umber cardstock for the base of my card and a wood pattern dsp as well as a newspaper print which I had in my stash. I also used a copper glitter tape for the background. I colored the cute image with copics. Here is my card"

I hope Terry likes the card I created with her cute image.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you hae a chance please stop and see the other swappers cards. I'm sure you won't be disappointed

Until next time,

DDD July "2017" Midsummers Night Dream

This month our hostesses were Paola for the Dazzlers and Heather for the Divas. They chose a Midsummers Night Dream as their theme for this month. Heather sent us a fun, fun, fun kit to work with. I've been bad however, as one of the challenges was to put a maple leaf on our card somewhere to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday. So I would like to wish Canada and all of her citizens a hearty Happy Birthday.

Our bountiful kit included an image from CC Designs--Cutie Butterfily
Papers Kaiser Craft Botanica Collection Roots and Stem --Kaiser Craft Mademoiselle Colletion "Flutter" amd Jen Hadfield Simple Life "Blue Meadow" Heather also sent a wonderful collection of various embellishments and ribbons.

Right away when the kit arrived I colored up my images and started working on a card. I loved this kit and had so much fun. I had made two cards however, I will  only be posting one today.

Here is the card I made with this fun kit:

I used some glitter on my little fairy and also cut out a happy birthday with one of my dies. If you look close you will see the pretty little vellum butterfly in the faries hand.

Heather and Paola asked us to look up some of the saying coined by Shakespear and reveal the one we used most mine is
  • Wild-goose chase from (Romeo and Juliet)

There were several very familiar sayings that I use as well but I use this one quite a bit.

I hope you liked my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. Please take some time and stop by the other duelers, I am certain you will not be disappointed with all the creativity this group has..

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

June DDD "Rose month"

Inside of "a Rose" card

" A Rose" image outside

Hi All, I'm here...can you believe it? It has been a crazy year so far and it seems like I can't keep up with anything, however, I'm here with 2 cards for this month. Tracie is the hosetss for the darlings and Barb is the hostess for the Divas. Barb sent us an awesome kit. I loved both the images Barb sent and decided I needed to make a card with each of the images. The images were "rose" by embossing arts and "delicate stems" by hero arts. The dsp is SU "Sweet Sorbet" along with several ribbons, and embellishments. I used a black base for one of the cards and a tip top taupe for the other. Here are my
cards...

Hero Arts Delicate Stems

I know this layout is a bit weird but have been working with this trying to get it to do what I want it to do but it is not cooperating so will leave it alone.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I do appreciate it and if you have time, please stop by the other duelers blogs and galleries. I am sure you will not be disappointed with their creativity.

DDD April and May "May Flowers"

Here I am late again with April's challenge anyway. I am however still on time for May's challenge as we are supposed to post today,,,I had a bit of trouble with my kit. I got it early colored up my choice of images and put the kit back back on the table. Kelly had not received her kit yet so I took the kit out and took pictures of it to show her what it contained. I then went to find my kit to put it together and I couldn't find it. Holy hanna I looked all over and I had put my copics in the bag and forgot that I had. I must have moved that bag 5 times. Anyway, once I found it I put the kit together asap, got a picture and here I am. Debbie was the hostess for the dazzlers and Judy sent us our kits....and they were chock full of yummy goodies. I used most of the dsp on the card only two pieces weren't cut into. I chose the daisy bella as my image and the bundles of blooms sentiment for the inside of the card. Here is the inside of the card:

And here is the front of the card:

As a second challenge we were asked what kind of flowers we would like to receive in a May basket. My choice would be carnations and daisies.

My April kit came from Kelly. It also was full of wonderful goodies. Here is the picture of my April card.

Both kits were delightful and very fun to work with. Thank you Judy and Kelly.

Please stop by the rest of the duelers and feast your eyes on some wonderful creations.

Thank you for stopping by.
Until next time,

Carol

March 2017 DDD--"Would you like to Ride in my beautiful balloon"

Hi all, it is already the 15th of March....wow, the time flies quickly by. This month the hostesses for our monthly DDD challenge were Darlene for the dazzlers and Laura Jean for the divas. What a fun kit LJ sent to us. This is what she included:

Images (some die-cut) & sentiments from Up Up and Away from My Favorite Things, patterned paper from Fancy Pants (Life is Beautiful Collection) SU! Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon, SU! 5/8" Marina Mist Ribbon, Misc other embellishments.

This was a great challenge for me as I wasn't quite sure how to layout the card and really "showcase" the beautiful balloons LJ sent along. I wanted to used as much of the awesome DSP as I could as well as the embellishments. I finally came up with this card.

I used a layout with half the front of the card cut away and used the dsp to accent the basic black cardstock I used for a base. I colored the balloons and then cut out the solid balloon on the sheet. I layered the perfectly cut balloon over my hand cut balloon with mounting tape between the layers and used the pretty coral ribbon to tie on to the balloon layer.

Inside I placed one of the sentiments LJ sent along as well as laid the double smaller balloon and cloud on this layer so it would show behind the cut out front layer, as well as showcase the inside of the card when it was open. I like how it turned out.

This is an angle picture of the card showing how the front panel was cut away.

I hope you like my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you have a chance, stop by and visit the other duelers as well. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

DDD Unforgetable Feb 2017 challenge

Hi all, today is the day to post our cards for the February Challenge. For the Darlings Deb made the kit and for the Divas Suzy sent a kit. I was the recipient of Suzy's kit. I love the kit she sent. There was a image from SU and misc dsp and embellies...fun, fun, fun. I colored up my image right after opening the package and the card came together quite quickly. Needless to say it has been done for a few weeks now. I just wish my blog and computer would cooperate......ugggh.. Hard time posting once again BUT, I am posting on the date so that is a bonus.

Here is the front of the card. Not a great picture. The card is more vibrant in real life.

Here is the inside of the card:

I had such a good time with this kit. Thanks Suzy for supplying it.

Thanks for stopping by. Please stop by the other duelers and check out their creations. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Until next time,

"Do all things with love" Crafters of Faith

This month our lovely hostess was Barb. This is the scripture she chose:

1 Corinthians 16:14 Do everything in love

This does not need to be a Valentine card, so you can make a card or a tag or anything else for any occasion, with Love!

While trying to figure out what to do I was searching around the internet and came across this image on a Precious Moments free coloring book page. I thought it was cute and knowing what it takes to make a pie from scratch from the crust to the finish, I thought....hmmmm to make a pie especially for someone is something one would do in love. I also thought this card could be a thinking of you, or birthday card with the right sentiment on the inside. Here is my card:

I used a recollections paper pack "colored pencil" and basic black paper as well as rhinestones. In the pack was sheets of paper with 6 different patterns on one page. The background I used for this card had the inside pattern right beside it so I thought....hmmmmm it would look good on the inside of the card and keep the color flowing through. Here is the inside of my card:

It is not a great picture of the inside as I had cropped the picture and centered it but apparently I didn't pick the correct image from my phone. I thought a sentiment could go in the center of the label when I decide who I will be sending this to.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I do appreciate it. If you get a chance please stop by the other crafters of faith and see their creations. I am sure you will not be disappointed in their beautful creations.

Until next time,
Hugs,

Carol

Challenge your stash Jan 2017

Hi all, Barb opened a new group called Challenge your stash where the hostess comes up with a challenge for the month and we are supposed to use what we have and not go out and buy anything to make the challenge. This month Barb challenged us with a color challenge The 3 colors were blach white and silver. Black and white is usually my go to color combo and I thought great color challenge. (which it is), however I had a more difficult time coming up with an idea. I probably put way to much thought into it and made it harder than it should've been. I did use everything from my stash. I used basic black, silver mirror paper, an old SU set, embossing powder and the white shimmer paint. I also, pulled a half used pack of rhinestones and a silver discontinued ribbon from SU. Here is my card.

The silver mirror paper is behind the flower die cut out. and the rhinestones are in the middle of the embossed flowers painted with the white shimmer paint. My card didn't photograph well but I do like how it turned out in real life.

Thank you for stopping by, please stop by the other gals in the group and see their amazing creations. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Mystery Image swap Jan 2017

Hello all, today I am sharing my card for the Mystery Image Swap hosted by Vickie. This is our 38th round and it has been a fun ride. The hostess sends an image to all of the girls participating in the swap and we have about a month and a half to create cards with the image. Vickie sent a SU image "everything nice" it was a cute image with a nice sentiment for the inside. I chose to make my own dsp  using glossy paper, I dropped 3 different colors of alcohol ink on the glossy cardstock and placed another piece of white glossy cardstock over the card stock with ink on it and smoshed them all together then slid them apart. This created two background papers. I then let them dry and cut them to size to create a blue/white background. My other colors didn't really show through as I think I may have not put enough of those colors on the paper. I colored my little gal with copics and used blue stickles on the rain to make it pop. I also used crystal effects on the boots to incidate that they were waterproof. The buttons on the coat is pearl colored liquid pearls and I used a Martha Stewart punch to do the swirly edge and cut the punched embelishment in half. I took rhinestones to the edge of the swirlies and put another accent between with pearls. My image is set up with double stick tape. Here is my card:

I used the swirly punch out on the insde as well with the sentiment centered over the full punch.

Thank you for stopping by, I really do appreciate it. If you have a chance to go visiting the other mystery swappers I am sure you will be pleasently surprised how the image looks so different in many wonderfully creative ways.

Thanks again for stopping by.
Until next time,
Carol

January DDD Challenge 2017

Well here I am a day late. What a way to start out the new year. (Not Good.) We are starting off the year with Terry (Dazzlers) and Tami (Divas) sending out kits for us to play with. The ironic part of all of this is Tami sent out her bountiful  kit early and I have had my card done now for quite awhile. The part that tripped me was forgetting the 15th was on a Sunday and I didn't have my card available to post yesterday, so I must apologize to all.

Tami sent us an amazing Riley kit with Imaginisce DSP (..all of the pieces were beautiful), a bunch of misc vendor embellishments and the Riley Heart Balloon Image.

I colored up my image right away with copics and used crystal effects to make the balloon shiny. I then found a latch card tutorial and began work. Here is the front of my card.

And here is the inside:

Typically I try to use as many of the DSP papers that I can, however, with this layout I didn't want to over do ..

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card. Please stop by the other duelers and check out how they used their kits. I am sure you will not be disappointed. (These are an amazing group of creative gals).

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol
