September Calendar Girls....

This month our wonderful Miss September Paola, aka.....Sweet P. gave us this challenge:

Our September Theme

Hello Calendar Girls,

To honour a dear longtime friend of mine who passed away early today, I would like to request that you create a beautiful card using the following guidelines:

Your card must be a fancy fold, and have apples stamped on it -and colored-
(OR, if you don't own any apples's stamps, apples can be incorporated on your cards via designer papers, stickers, dies etc..), plus have at least one 3-D butterfly on your card too.

The main colors used for this challenge are to be your own favourite colors (use at least two of them please, and tell us which ones they are once you blog it.)

Why the apples/butterflies combos you may ask?

My friend used to bring me tons and tons of beautiful apples from her garden at about this time of the year as the fall season just starts to appear, and today, at the hospice, she was covered in a gorgeous handmade blanket full of beautiful colorful butterflies as we said our final goodbye....A bigger 3-D all white sequined butterfly was placed on top of her heart too...♥

Please note: Your cards are NOT to be sympathy cards at all, please keep them ‘happy/festive’ - as a celebration of LIFE in general! ♥

♥ Hug a friend today...life's way too short!

Thank you and God Bless to all! ♥

Paola / Miss September

And here is my card for this wonderful challenge...

I thought about it long and hard and remembered I had this truck full of apples. I have always love this stamp by SU (country side). I used water color paper for the background and embossed the truck on the water color paper with black embossing paper. I then colored the image with water color crayons.  I also cut out the butterflies from the SU emboss-let  beautiful wings. After I had cut out the butterflies I colored them with water color crayons as well...by dabbing on the color...some areas are darker than others and white shows through in places but that is how nature is...nothing is exactly all one solid color. I made this easel card to follow the guidelines of the fancy fold. The base of my card is Umber which is a black/dark brown color I love. The blue on the truck is discontinued brilliant blue my other favorite color on this card...I must admit though that the red would also fall into the favorite catagory...(if you look closely, you will see I didn't put any glitter on this card...SHOCK...) as I was taking the picture I thought to myself....those little butterflies could certainly use a touch of glitter but I did have to get this posted....so next time...lol..

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.....please stop by the other calender girls blogs...I am sure you will not be disappointed...

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Now where did I put that watercolor paper?! You know I have to dig it out now. I only have pencils...not crayons. Where is that watercolor brush too?! See what you started!!!!
