Dueling Darlings November Challenge

This month the challenge for the Dueling darlings was hosted by Lildj (aka Debbie) and myself. As most of you know....Lildj is the brains of this duo...she comes up with all the great ideas and I help embellish them...
This month our theme is Planes, Trains and Automobiles---this is how it went:

Here is a bit of information about the month of November…November is Aviation History Month and National Model Railroad Month. Also, November 22 is Go for a Ride Day.

Well, with those things in mind, a theme of: Planes, Trains & Automobiles was mentioned. Then Carol asked me if I had ever seen the movie Planes, Trains & Automobiles? (I have not.) But she explained that the characters of the movie are trying to get home for Thanksgiving.

Well….duh…with those events taking place in November and the theme of the movie around Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving coming in November…it was decided that “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” would be our theme.

So it was decided and I was so excited until I had to find stamps etc...being the good shopper I am I went directly to the stamp store and bought a set (I didn't use) and then found stamps while I was looking for something else...

The details are:
Plane (that looks like a mesquito) Studio112
Car immie: Clear mini stamps in a jam
DSP: destinations-flash cards--graphic 45 I think I can--Bo Bunny-Detour Baggage claim---Kaiser craft--delayed ---Bo Bunny Detour Icons---and Bo Bunny detour stripe...also there are misc embellies that I don't know exactly where they are from...
.

As a bonus please tell of a Thanksgiving memory or a memorable trip to get to your Holiday destination...

For real I was excited for this theme until I realized that I wasn't sure I had anything for it...after a little hunting though I did come up with a kit...as you can see....here is my card. I used basic black for the base and the SC 411 from SCS  Here, what I especially liked intially about this sketch was the ability to used many pieces of Dsp only I ended up using trading cards instead. The card has a plane, trains and automobiles on it.

Here is the inside...I did have fun with this once I got started but I admit it did take me a bit to get my mojo going...(as for my glittah loving friends....I used some on the headlights of the cars but you can't really see it on the picture).

Now for the optional challenge...One Thanksgiving when I was first married we were supposed to go to my hubby's parents house 60 miles north of here. It was cold and bitter and had snowed alot that month...My father-in-law was in the VA hospital but they had given him a day pass to go home for Thanksgiving...WELL...our car wouldn't start so we called him in the hospital and told him we wouldn't be able to pick him up...we were all sad as the car was in bad shape...My dear father-in-law...went out, shoveled his car out of the snow and came over to pick us up so we could all go enjoy an amazing Thanksgiving feast...Later that evening we drove him back to the hospital in his car but we were all pretty sure we wouldn't get home that year...but not "dad" he was going to make sure he got his turkey and time with his family....

Thanks for stopping by...Please go check out the rest of the Darlings cards...I am sure you won't be disappointed..

Until next time...
Big Hugs,
Carol

That image is really cute! I love the little people in the little cars! It almost looks like they are happy to be stuck in traffic ☺

Oh,Carol, you are so right...Great minds do think alike! ;) I think it's so fun that we both chose the same sketch and to use the flash cards for our panels. Wished I would have thought of glitter for the headlights! But then you went a step further and designed this lovely interior of the card! Great job!
Love your Thanksgiving story. What a blessing and a wonderful memory!
