DDD Challenge Feb 2014 "Feel the Love"

Well I finally made it...late but I'm here. It has been a crazy start to the year. This month is the month of Valentines Day and since my dueling mates posted their creations on the day after, our wonderful hostesses' Barb for the Divas and Debbie for the Darlings...chose to continue the love right on into the 15th. Barb sent the Divas a kit that was so full of goodness that it was really hard to pick what I wanted to use...actually I wanted to use it all but the card would have had to been REALLY big or very very full...lol. This is what I chose to make...

My base is real red and I used 3 pieces of the awesome dsp Barb sent in the kit and mounted it on strips of white paper. I then took the beautiful shimmery red ribbon and gathered it into a flower of sorts. I used the pearl for the inside of the flower and the other two pearls sit nicely in the bottom left hand corner. We were to use the sentiment on the card and could add other images if we chose. I chose not to use other images as I liked this as the focal point. I used the heart brad on the sentiment and colored in the little leaves with green colored pencil.

Here is the inside:
Not a good picture at all but I did use the scraps from the front dsp paper and placed the cute little pink flowers from the kit in between the little squares of scrap paper. I will add a white sheet to the inside when I decide what I am going to use the card for.

For the second part of this challenge we are honoring our founders Kelly and Jeanette. I know both of these wonderful gals love the Lord and their coffee (Starbucks to be exact), and their families. They also , love sharing their talent with us in creating new and different challenges for us. Kelly is especially fond of palm trees and sandcastles...(good choices), however, she also likes "SNOW"---go figure...this "love" I don't really understand as I'm not a fan of snow...but...oh well...lol. Jeanette is a fun friend....she loves razzing Barb and can hold her own...lol. She also, likes camel smooches (from the computer) and prizes, prizes, prizes...which can get bot Barb and Jeanette going....they like to duel over who is going to get whose prize. I was a very fortunate girl to meet Jeanette and Barb this past year and I can only say.....what fun...I think we all love fun. I am very fortunate to be able to count  all the awesome duelers as friends. They truly are a blessing in my life.

Please take a bit of time and check out their blogs. I m sure you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by...

Until next time,
Hugs,
Carol

Carol--what a sweet card. I love how you made the flower from the ribbon and that you were able to use a number of the pieces of DSP. I too loved getting together with you and the other gals, and you sure are welcome to come down to camp anytime, or come to play or just visit!

And--you do need to tell Jeanette to stop razzing me! and I NEED more prizes!

Thanks for making such a cute card with the kit I sent and honoring our leaders!

Carol, this is simply marvelous! The rich ribbon flower with the pearls, together with the red & white color scheme is wonderful. I also like how you added color to the stamped image, that really makes it pop!

Your tribute to Jeanette and Kelly is spot-on. They are amazing in so many ways and you captured it perfectly.

I am so glad that we have found each other and that you are my friend!
