SOTC January Card
Hi all....thanks for stopping by. I just finished my sister of the traveling cards January card so thought I would share. Our sweet hostess this month is Maryann and she had a special challenge for all of us. I thought it was a great idea, we were to look outside our windows when we got up on Jan 1 and make a card indicating what it was like outside. Well.......when I looked outside it was snowing. SURPRISE!!! lol....I chose to use Mo Manning's Kai in the snow image...(I love Mo's digitals)..I thought this was perfect to indicate that it was snowing...(Now if I had the imagination of my wonderful friend Cheryl, I would have used a snow white stamp....I would have never thought of that had she not said it)...
I colored Kai with copic markers and then cut him out with a nestie. I used another nestie and the retired SU almost amethyst to mount the image on. I took a white piece of paper a bit smaller than my card front and ran it through the big shot with a snowflake folder I picked up at some stamp store last year. On the bottom of the card I gathered sheer blue ribbon (SU retired), and topped the ribbon with a snowflake cut out of the new SU snowflake die. I used white glitter paper for the snowflake. I then placed a rhinestone in the center of the snowflake and mounted it between the gathers of the ribbon...I found mini white pompoms and used them on Kai's hat and strings of his hat. My awesome friend Linda sent me some white flower soft and I used that for the snow falling from the sky. I like how this one turned out (my hubby did too....). I do hope that you like it as well..
Now I'm off to get the cards ready to wing their way to Maryann...
Have an awesome rest of the weekend.
Hugs,
Carol
