DDD January 2013

Well here we are, time for another duel and this month LJ and Terry start us off with this challenge:

Greetings Divas!

I know you have all been anxiously awaiting for the details on the January Kit I mailed out.....I had so much fun putting it together.

Terry suggested getting away from the typical winter themes so this one is a little different this month:

January is "Book Blitz Month".....use a stamp with books and/or reading as a theme We would also like to then add in your post who your favorite author is, or your favorite book and why.

Here are the contents of the kit (I've listed the companies as best I can remember)

Stamps: ABC Primer Collection // Graphic 45. Images are stamped with either Memento Tuxedo black or Memento Rich Cocoa ink on PTI White. It's copic/prisma friendly.
All DP & smaller tag piece :This & That Charming Collection // Echo Park
Accessories:
Ribbon: Green Polka Dot Ribbon (PTI), Wide Brown Ribbon (SU), brown Gingham Ribbon (American Crafts). Silver hodgepodge & spiral clip (SU) Brads - Basic Grey, Buttons (PTI and Amuse). Chipboard Square (unknown).

Hope you enjoy the kit! Let me know if there are any questions....

LJ

We got a great kit from LJ and I was able to use quite a bit of it.....

I used 4 of the dsp..3 on the front and one on the inside....

I also used 3 of the images LJ sent along. The books, the apple and of course this darling little girl. I colored all the images with copics and on the apple I used crystal effects to give the apple a super shiny effect.. I also used them on the little girls head to make her hair shiny as well. On the book strap I used a silver pen on the buckle and the little button holes.  I used one of the awesome ribbons to make a bow and clamped the middle of it with a brad from the kit...

As far as my favorite author....I have several I like but I really like Nicholas Sparks. I can get so wrapped up in reading his books I forget about time and am totally involved in the story. I really like to read to escape (kind of like a vacation), so when I read his books I just jump right in...it feels like I am a part of the story and that is what I love....

I hope you like my card...

Thanks so much for stopping by, please make a stop at all the duelers' blogs to see what everyone has created...

Until next time....
Hugs,
Carol

"Like" your card??? Are you kidding me? I LOVE your card, girl!! That image is so sweet and I like how your layout on the front accents only her! That shiny ribbon and shiny apple are perfect together. Using the silver pen on the book strap inside is genius! Great job my friend, as usual! I'm with you, books offer such fun escape, just like a vacation, only less expensive!
