Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!! I hope 2011 is a very good year for each and everyone of you... Today I am posting a card I made last night with my granddaughter for Mo's Challenge 63...Bless the Beast and the Children. I love Mo's digital stamps and have found a new outlet for images...problem is I want them all!!! lol... I chose the Kansas image for my card today. (My dear granddaughter [5] was here last night and she also loved the image so much she colored one up as well---I will share that too).

I purchased the DCWV dsp at a sale at JoAnn's quite awhile ago...the words through out are hope, dream, believe, inspire, appreciate, imagine, create, become, wish...all words that so aptly applied to Dorothy's quest to get home. They also apply the the beginning of the NewYear, a year for new beginnings, a year full of hopes, dreams and challenges to help us become a better us...

I decided to use this paper as a background for Dorothy and used SU's Night of Navy as a base. Dorothy and Toto are colored with copics and of course glitter has been used for bling as well as rhinestones.. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but there is red stickles on her shoes and lips and diamond stickles on the ruffles of her dress. There are rhinestones to accent the ribbons in her hair and of course the navy paper on the front. (I struggled with the 3 rhinestones on each scallop edge of the navy behind Dorothy and am still not sure I like it but will stick with it for now). My dear granddaughter upon seeing my colored image, decided we needed to do an "actibity"...and colored up an image. She created the card below...it made me smile for sure...she also loves bling but fortunately did not request glitter this time...lol...(that in itself is quite an adventure--but fun). She did however use rhinestones up at the top mixed in with her polka dots.....

I am hoping this made you smile as well....Have a very Blessed New Year....

Hugs,
Carol
