Dueling Darlings May 2012--Spring is in the Air

Here we are....the 15th of the month and true to form I am late in getting this posted...(although at least I didn't miss the actual day to post...sheesh). The Divas got an amazing kit from our lovely Judy and the Dazzlers got their kit from the sweet Paola...and what fun our kit was...oh my...and full of awesome goodies...wow...do I mean full...I fell in love with the DSP paper right out of the envelope...and all the embellies we had to chose from...more than plentiful....one of my most FAVORITE embellishments was the butterfly ribbon.....what a treat...here is a picture of what I have left over....

 
I know, I know...you are probably thinking...she didn't even make a card or maybe she did and only used the image.....Nope...I did and I used alot of the kit....(probably made the card too busy....but it was hard not to want to use everything)..

See here is my card and I did use alot of the kit...especially the dsp...I decided to make a "Joy" fold card as it was a joyful kit...The thing that wowed me right away was the background dsp with the browns, gold, oranges and yellows with a blue flower as an accent...I took my SU Pacific point card stock and laid it against it and well...you can see I liked that...lol..next I colored my image with copic markers and added glitter to the butterfly wings and the flowers...(you knew it would be on my card somewhere..lol). I mounted the image on the pacific point c/s which I mounted on the orange dsp to create my flap...when I had the whole card put together and I was deciding on which of the many embellishments to use I just had to find a way to used the butterfly ribbon...so....I used it on the bottom flap (hopefully I didn't over kill with the many patterns but goodness is that ribbon beautiful).

Judy and Sweet P asked us to tell you what we love about May...and for me it is the fact that May is the promise of nicer weather. Usually May is the perfect weather month for me...not to warm and not too cool...all the trees are bursting with new leaves, grass is getting mowed (love the smell)..flowers are peaking their heads out of the ground and the birds are singing like crazy outside my window when I wake up in the morning for work...I love the newness of the upcoming season May brings along with all the new beginnings it holds for those who take the time to stop and look around them..
